    Hi,

I was wondering if any of you have machine quilted on tricot. I have a quilt that my great grandmother made that has tricot on both sides, that I love. I would like to do one for my granddaughter that is due in June, but I would like the bottom to be flannel. What type of thread would you use (cotton might be too heavy) and what size needle. I know the needle needs to go through the flannel, but I don't want the holes to be too big on the top.

    Thanks

I don't have the answer but it looks like you've stumped this group. Good luck in finding the answer and you might share it once you do find out just to let everyone else in on the answer.

I think you need to use a ballpoint needle for machine quilting tricot, to prevent snags. Do you have some sample fabrics you can practice on? So Fine is a finer thread that many people use for machine quilting. The Superior Threads website has information about this and other threads. You could even give them a call to ask about thread recommendations for this kind of quilt.
