Haven't been in my sewing room for weeks so it's back in there for me today. Hope to finish up a little embroidered block so that I can piece a flannel wallhanging for our family cottage. Started this one a longggg time ago. Will fill good to get it done.
:) Good luck, everybody!

I have cut out several small tissue holders and bookmarks that I like to have around for little gifts etc. I hope to start sewing on those soon. I am working on using up some of my small scraps. I am also using up my scraps by cutting out a crayon box quilt. I hope to be done with that today.

I started a baby quilt which I've named "So much fun ahead," when son and DIL announced a grandchild on the way. I'm using 4" blocks (both pieced and appliqued)that I had on hand, arranging them by a calendar theme (seasons, holidays, etc. in calendar order). After I got started, they made another announcement: TWINS! So now I'm making another set of 4" squares for a second quilt.

In honor of Valentine's Day, I'm going to piece 2 hearts with background/sashing and put each small "block" into a photo frame with a lovely label on back. I'll give them as February birthday gifts to a daughter who is physically + mentally challenged from severe Tuberous Sclerosis and her mother who has worked 30 hard years as her advocate.

I am seam ripping the binding i decided to machine sew onto my daughters quilt. it ended up a mess and looks terrible. once I seam rip it, I'll be hand sewing it. I hate it, but it looks the best. I finally figured out how to do it correctly.........

It's so fun reading that SO many people are doing sewing oriented things today!! I am STILL folding all my fabrics... my poor husband must not have had a clue - he asked me, when I was starting my fifth container, "You're folding ALL that?" He has no idea how much more I have to go and how much I've done while he's been busy elswhere!!! :) I'm SO glad to get my house organized though - --
