I also love the binding clips. the clover bobbin holder was waste of money! the don't stack well and fall over.
big fan of books and magazines, but I am trying to cut down, so my sewing area doesn't look like episode of hoarders! I find flipping the pages while drinking my tea very relaxing and cheaper than therapy.
have never used the "curve master" foot attachment. Also have the Alto Cut (original one) I bought on eBay, which has never been used.
Have enjoyed this thread many items I have thought about discussed. And as you can read, I'm a big sucker for a flashy demonstration at a quilt show!

Yes this! I was told by a business that uses a Gammill longarm to use some baby powder in cheese cloth and pounce with that over a wax paper sheet you stitch the design on, needle only. so making your own pounce and stencil. She also fixed it in place with cheap hair spray.

Definitely my choice for my worst investment is Martelli Binding System. Second is the EQ Stitch. Unfortunately for personal reasons I have to downsize quite a bit and the EQ7 and EQ Stitch are the first on my list I am letting go.

I bought a beautiful new Berina .Has the attachment for free motion quilting,a bunch of feet. Runs like new,looks new.No wonder as it's barely been used.
My DH had some serious health issues,then Mom & bro did the same. Was just life happening,& somewhere along the way,completely lost interest in making quilts.
As for things I did use,books,rulers along with good cutters & mats. The Accu cut works great,a big time saver when making bed quilts using tons of strips or triangles. Pat

I have the Clover needle threader and I love it. (Someone else posted here that they hate it, because "it only works with Clover needles"). That' not true---it works with all needles with a round hole. If the hole is small and oval, it may not work. Be sure the hole is facing the right way. Also, the hole on many needles is larger on one side than the other, so turning it around may do the trick for needles with small holes.

In reading some of the other responses, I have agreed with some of them. One is marking pens, pencils or whatever. I have yet to find one that I really, really like. They all seem to have problems. I just took a hand quilting class, and the teacher uses, believe it or not, a No. 2 pencil to mark on the fabric. It comes out easily and leaves no marks. Who knew?
The second item I would put on my list is blade sharpeners. They do not work.
The third item on my list is scissor sharpeners. I have ruined several pairs of scissors using some of these devices that do not work. I bought one that got glowing reviews. I used it on a pair of scissors I have, and it now will not even cut paper. Why? In very, very small print it says do not use on left-handed scissors, and I bought this left-handed pair of scissors because I have a lot of trouble with scissors. Destroyed them. No more gadgets that sharpen scissors.
If you come across a pillow with batteries that massages your back, keep on walking. Does not have a long user life.
That's my list.

Those stupid binding tools for joining the ends. What's worse, I have two of them. Granted, they didn't cost that much, but I found a YouTube video that showed me a fast, EASY, way to do it.
Also, one of those 'gripper' things with suction cups to keep your ruler from slipping.
And, a ruler with a groove on the side to guide the matching rotary cutter. Never could get the hang of it.
