BATIKS for me!!!! Lately though when I've been looking for fabric, I have been leaning towards the blue's (turquoise)/brown's. I have a friend that makes fun of me because all my purses are brown or have brown in them. She tells me, "If it's brown put it down"....LOL

When I first started I leaned mostly to fall colors, but as the years went by I started liking all bright colors. Right now I'm working on an asian quilt. I really like the deep purples, blues and greens.

Deep, rich colors with strong contrasts.

I'm in the middle of making a lap robe for my daughter's
school room with strong colors of ice cream cones on it.
I had planned on it being a surprise for her, and it will be,
since when talking to her, THEN my daughter casually
mentioned that she was decorating her room for fall in,
believe it or not, ROBOTS. All around robots, sigh, so of
course I will send her two of the lap robes. Hopefully she
will have kids who will enjoy both of them, since they are
still to be a surprise. To me, as well, since I'd expected
her to mention children's favorite foods, sweets.

The ice cream is brilliantly colored, the Robots are slivery
color on a strong dark background, with the rocket ships
silvery blue with reddish exhaust. All are my own design.

I like the 1930's and the civil war fabrics. I also like some of the bright fabrics. I guess I'm a quilter that goes shopping and if I like a fabric I get it. The only ones I don't like are the big florals.

Gee, I love soft colors then at times, I love those jewel tones. Mostly my home is decorated in soft teals and creams. But my sewing/computer room is in a soft yellow and will take reds, greens, blues, teals, gold, and browns. Or I could go bright, bright and bold! My avatar is in my sewing room.
