I am probably the wrong person for this thread as I am currently a quilt magazine junky. I am subscribed to Quiltmaker, McCall's, and Love of Quilting and just recently let my American Patchwork Quilting lapse. I would say my current favorite is McCall's. hope this is helpful I some way.

American Quilters Society which has a quarterly magazine that has a wonderful lesson to expand your skills each issue. Besides, membership in the Society allows one to purchase patterns, books, even some fabric at reduced rates, and gives you an anytime 10% discount at Joannes.

Quiltmaker, as I like they have the quilting of the project included to give you an ideas, instead of "quilt as desired".

I don't subscribe anymore. I use the public library. Older issues can be checked out just like books. My library system also uses Zinio. I can download all sorts of magazines onto my computer or iPad. They stay there until I delete them. Check it out. I also check my library for current music before I buy. I check it out and then download to my iPod.

I really like "Modern Quilts", but I prefer modern quilt designs, so it is much more to my taste than the traditional quilting magazines which I have let the subscriptions lapse. I am also subscribing to the Missouri Star "Block" magazine for now, this one has some really easy designs that I like to try for charity quilts.

My #1 favorite is Quilters World, but I get several mags right now.

I am slowly converting over to digital format.
