I am not patient I want to do one now!
I buy my fabric specifically for scrappy quilts. I buy alot on sale - usually just 1 yd unless it is for borders or backs. I then cut 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2" strips, the left overs are stored by color and when I need larger pieces I have them - I forgot to say, when I am cutting my strips, when I even up the edges I cut 1 to 1 1/4" for my string box.
I LOVE everything Bonnie Hunter does and have done all her mysteries. My next Bonnie quilt will be Ocean Waves - lots of hst and I've got tons put away from trimmings.

My favorite scrappy to make (or look at or think about or anything... LOL!) is the lowly 9-Patch. I can't help it... I LOVE 9-Patches! Here are a couple I made. The dark one was a QOV & the 30's scraps were for my neighbor.

A fabric at my house is a scrap when I say it is... even if it just got here & hasn;t even been cut into yet! And ues, always buy a little more than you "need" -- for boo-boos (maybe nobody else is as math-challenged as I am...) & to have as "left-overs". Y'know what they say... leftovers are the best part!

Scissor Queen, I love your quilt and the way you do them. I love scrappies the most I think, probably because of all the color.
