I made myself a handlebar bag for my Harley. The model I own has the speedometer placed a little different than most, so the ones they sell in the motorcycle shop ( for about 40.00) dont fit. I got exactly what I wanted and made it out of materials already in my sewing room!

I had to wear a gallbladder drain for about eight weeks, so I made a cover for the bag out of some very stylish material. I got more compliments from the nurses and doctors and learned that one of my doctors was a quilter. So it was nice when she came in, we had more than just illness to talk about.

Way back in 1972 I made a survival pack for DH to take with him deer hunting. In 1985 we were in Hong Kong and fanny packs were all the rage. Why didn't I think to patent that fanny pack!? The other strange thing I made was a door hanging sewing caddy. I took old jeans and made it big enough to hold my big cutting mats, rulers, and everything else you need for sewing and quilting. Now I am designing a battery pack for a friends leg nerve stimulator.

When I was playing Tennis, I made a cover for my racket

with the word TENNIS on it. I used quilted material for the shape and applique the words.

A few years ago my son purchased new tires for his tractor. With it sitting outside he didn't want them to get weather checked so asked me to make covers for the rear tires. That is probably the strangest thing--although the red wool bra I made when I was too young to need one may be more strange.
