Depends of if it is in good shape. Pfaff's generally hold their resale value because they are really good machines.

There was one that sold for $280 on ebay, so depending on the cabinet it might be worth it.

do you have to pay for shipping or can you pick it up?
ebay shipping can be very expensive and the auction price can end up much higher.

then if the machine works smoothly and the cabinet looks nice, it's probably a good buy, cabinets alone are not cheap. a machine in good working order isn't cheap either. if there's no tax or shipping, i would go for it if you can comfortably afford it. do you have a space for it? is it your main machine or a backup?

Oh my, guess I was very lucky....I got my Pfaff 230 with all attachments and original cabinet...all in excellent condition for $100. But I will admit I felt like I was almost stealing it. Course that was a number of years ago (about 10 I think). These Pfaff's are tanks and fabulous machines. They do seem to sell a lot higher on Ebay. Maybe you could try and get the person to lower the price a bit for you. If they won't lower the price and you have the money then I'd probably still go for it. Prices are different everywhere and if it is in great condition with accessories, and a nice cabinet I think you would love it. Those vintage Pfaff's were way ahead of the times and were made to last generations. I just love my German made Pfaffs and would never part with them.
