yellows, pinks and oranges together. This is the only combination of these colors that I like. Don't know why.

i love all of them... i just wish i could find a good red that didn't run...

making a qov out of all batiks w/white tone on tone for my godson, just coming back frm his 3rd tour in afghanistan....looks awesome in all batik... used various sized white stars appliqued to the blue rather than the banner fabric...

This is funny that so many have picked purples and greens, my 2 favs I use those with shades of creams and beiges in my house. I'm also drawn to blues, greens, purples being by the ocean I love the different colors of sea water.

The first batiks I ever bought were in shades of blue. I used them to make a sweatshirt jacket. I still enjoy looking at that lovely thing. The next ones I got were all in shades of autumn chosen for a specific leaf quilt that I have yet to make. I need a very pale yellow batik and have yet to find one suitable. I guess that's the one thing I dislike about batiks is that they don't come in pale colors very often for use as backgrounds and accents. But I guess you really didn't ask us that, lol!

They *do* make quite a few paler batiks... but whether stores are stocking those as much... maybe not. Most of us seem to be drawn toward the brighter colors first.

Have you seen the Anthology batiks? Anthology is the name of a fabric company. I think they are not well known yet. They have quite a few pale prints - and some solids too - on their website. http://www.anthologyfabrics.com/home.php?cat=246

Nan, those are fabuloso! I'll take a yard of each one - what am I saying??? I have no budget for more batiks right now, but will look for them on my next fabric buying expedition in November. Love those pale ones.
