My sewing kit contains what I need for the current travel project which is always a hand project, so my kit changes with each project. Currently my project is hand stitching on quilt as you go wool and flannel blocks so my kit contains a hinged metal box with an assortment of Perle cotton threads , a small needle book with an assortment of needles a few appliqué pins and my heavy duty needle threaders and a small pair of very sharp scissors.
when this project is finished next in line is an EPP project, my kit will completely change. Containers are different, tools, threads, everything. Part of my enjoyment is putting together my projects to take with me, with everything organized and easy to use whether sitting in a waiting room or getting a15 minute break to sew.

I, too, have a “go bag” filled with duplicate notions. I seem to always need “lip stuff,” so mine includes a Burt’s Bees. And a nail file. And I didn’t see it in your picture, but do you have a seam ripper? Or are you just that optimistic? 😂

Mine is absolutely stuffed! I have Best Press, an extension cord, markers, blades, Velcro, pins, clips, quilting gloves, loose change, bobbins, a pin cushion, you name it. I really have been meaning to clean it out. What I really use the most is my rotary cutter and a 6.5" square ruler.

I have not read all of the replies to your question so this may be a repeat. I cut the tips off of a rubber glove and keep them near my machine when burying threads. Sometimes it is difficult to pull the hand needle through all of the fabric and stitching. This is when I use one of these rubber tips to help me pull the needle through the fabric. Use them all of the time!

My traveling sewing kit is just like my stay at home kit - after leaving home without some good scissors - I bought a new set of scissors to keep with my traveling machine. Heck, I even carry an extra light bulb for my sewing machine. One time I failed to have any sewing machine oil and to get some I had to buy a kit - and in the kit was a light bulb for my machine. And on one of our sewing trips to Vegas my friend's light burned out. My daughter said I might have one, and she thought "No way" but there is was! Now I just keep the one for my FW, I had bought an LED bulb so the old one is in the box.
I keep a granola bar in mine too because when sewing I sometimes forget to eat on time and my blood sugar drops and I am shaking before I realize it.

I throw in my owner's manual since I use a machine that I don't much use except for traveling purposes. There are some things I just cannot remember!
