About how many 4" squares would i need to make a quilt for a queen/king size bed? Also would like to know for a twin size. I know it all depends on if i add a sashing or want it to the sides, it doesn't matter really, I'd just like a guesstimate. :) Thank you all.

The one I made was done with a layercake (cut into 4 pieces) and either 1 or 2 charm packs. It ended up being 65"x65". It was either 200 or 240 5" sqares used in mine.

Cherrie....I put some sizes into the electric quilt program for you and came up with this....

For a 84" X 92" queen size quilt without any borders you need 552 squares. Cut your squares 4 1/2 " for a 4" finished square.

For a 64" X 88" twin size quilt without borders you need 352 squares.
Cut your squares 4 1/2" for a 4" finished square.
