I couldn`t beleive this when I saw it here, so checked it out.
Hubby and I thinking of going for our 40th in Nov.
Being canadian I would love getting into some quilt stores.
You only get 30 min to 45 which I don`t know if its enough! Yikes!
Maybe better to pay a cab and go to one.
    Thanks Gale

I think I would pay a cab to get there
Then ask the fabric store employee to call me one to take me to the next one....
But....I bet it is cheaper to rent a car for the day!

check online to see if there are enough interesting stores to make the trip worthwhile for you. those tours can be expensive and you might be happier going on your own to LA altogether. LV itself is not more than 4 days+/- unless you're a real gambler. the neon, hotels and shows are fun, but little else except gambling.

any LV people here with suggestions? that was my experience. after 3 days i was done. one day for running from shop to shop, one day for running from hotel to hotel to see them all, and one day to walk up and the two main streets. two nightime shows. then collapse! 4 days would have been better.

    Hi Gale
If you do decide to visit Las Vegas for your 40th, let me know. We can go fabric shopping. I've been to Quiltique http://www.quiltique.com/home/ & Nancy's http://www.nancysquiltshop.com/, I like Nancy's better, it's much closer too :) I haven't been to Fabric Boutique http://www.fabricboutique.com/, but sure would like to check it out. Fiddlesticks Quilts http://www.fiddlesticksquilts.com/ is far, it's near Boulder Dam. Never been to Christmas Goose http://www.christmasgoose.com/
There also is Hancocks & Joanns

I will be in Vegas next week and plan on hitting all the quilt shops while DH is at Convention..(I'll have a car) I am wondering if there are any fabric outlets? Also I am thinking I might hit the thrift stores for shirts... Any good hints where to go.. I did the rounds of the quilt shops 2 years ago.. grace

    Hi Grace
    For thrift stores:
Deseret Industries is a great thrift shop for clothes

I've only been to the Craig Road store & have gotten lots of good stuff.
    There is also Savers
    http://www.savers.com/aboutus/storel...ty=Las%20Vegas
but I like Deseret much better.
    Fabric outlets:
There is this one, Two Dollar Fabric Store, never been to it, I'd call them first to make sure they are open
