I don't watch TV. I generally like it quiet when I quilt. If DH is home he has the radio on to a classic rock station, and some of the songs "take me back". I mostly just zone out on my stitching.

When I started learning to quilt, my teacher told me to aim for 8 stitches per inch. I thought she meant only on the top, so now that I can count the bottom ones, also, it seems easy to me to get 15-16 stitches per inch. I think it's all in what way you learn, any hand quilting is beautiful and should be appreciated as a labor of love.

Me too. I always have some type of handwork around. I find it very relaxing. TV by itself is too boring for me. Must come from all those years of "multi tasking" at work!

Well.....now.... while I blanket stitch....I dream of new candy bars.....new combo...what would be good together! Should I include a golden ticket in one....or maybe a design of a quilt block....uummm, what would you expect of my inner thoughts.

I also use the time to pray, especially for my family, but also for the quilt recipient. And because I sometimes handquilt late into the night, it's not uncommon for me to fall asleep midstitch and dream for a while.
Is quilting very different from small basting stitches?
