Default Pfaff 2056

I just found out that my 2056 can not be repaired. I love this machine and feel like I'm losing a good friend! I plan to look at replacements on Friday -- sticking with Pfaff because of IDT. In addition to piecing quilts, I've started to get into applique work so want something with variety of stitches. I do not do free motion.

Anyone have a recommendation? Woman at Pfaff store said she'd show me the Expression line. Thoughts?

I have the Pfaff 2056 but haven't been able to use it because I can't get the lightbulb in. That being said, it has to be the heaviest machine I have ever owned. Not portable at all.

I also own the Janome 3160QDC-G Sewing and Quilting Machine. I love the Janome brand, Really lightweight and easy to use.

I love PFAFF sewing machines. I was so bummed that my Creative Vision 5.5 stopped working after 5 years. I just gave it away, hoops and all. I was not able to purchase an expensive machine but my local store had a PFAFF Expression 710 that I fell in love with and have been very happy with. I'm not one to use the fancy stitches but do love all the utility stitches, buttonholes and being able to sew heavy fabric.
