Aurifil makes thicker thread 40 wt up to 12 wt. that shows great for machine quilting. Also Aurifil has a poly and bobbin thread 60 wt - 80wt. Not many places carry all the Aurifil sizes and weights. I had one LQS tell me Aurifil only made 50wt or 40 wt cotton and no big cones could be bought only the spools. I took some of my huge cones right back to show her along with size 12 wt and 28 wt spools. She wouldn't even look online to check said it wasn't real Aurifil. People that don't know shouldn't be selling. She never got a penny of my money. I usually use Glide thread for all my machine quilting. When a thread sews with no shredding, breaking, or nesting then that is the thread I will use every time and Glide has never given me one problem.

Sue's Sew EZ designs. I learned about this site from this Board. She has 50 wt Aurifil for $7.00. Limited color choices, it appears she's going out of business?! I got a bunch of interesting colors. Her service was great.

I just posted in the links/resources about aurifil a couple days ago, the deal is over though, but worth keeping an eye on :

I recently switched from gutermann to aurifil and love it. I got in on the first deal from massdrop, unfortunately they only have basics. I just ordered a couple colors from http://www.hawthornethreads.com/threads/aurifil because they basically have everything in stock! eyeing up those nice collection boxes as one of my next purchases..

Connecting Threads for me also. I just bought 12 spools of the cotton thread in Natural. Love that thread.

Connecting threads is my first go to, but if you need a better quality thread try "redrocktheads.com". Good sales on aurofil and other top of the line threads.

I like connecting threads but if I need single colors I usually go to threadart.com they have great sales fast shipping and awesome customer service and no I don't work for them im just a regular customer. although connecting threads does have a sale going right now which single rolls are 1.95 ea which is pretty good. I think im gonna take advantage of that myself I think I need a few other things from connecting threads anyway.
