My morning usually starts with Alex at 8:30 M-F on HGTV and 10:30 Tu DIY. Today when I tuned in at 8:30, no Alex. I realize we have been watching reruns for sometime, but at least we could see a show specializing in our (you and me and thousands of others) main interest. And even if I'd seen the show several times, I could always pick up something. Other stations have dropped "sewing" in general as well.

Are you as disappointed as me? How can we collectively object? Any ideas? Suzanne

Suz--same here! Aaargh! But the schedule on HGTV had a show scheduled for yesterday, and then not again until the 11th. Seems odd, but who knows? We may not need to stage a Quilter's Revolt yet.

I heard several months ago that her show would be cancelled by the end of the year and it seems they were filming no more new shows after October. I do not remember where I heard this, but it was on the media somewhere. She will be active on her website. http://www.alexandersonquilts.com/main.php

It does not mention anything about cancellation, but I think it would not hurt for all of us to contact HGTV and let them know how much we like the show. This is the link.

This link is a schedule of her shows. There is no show Dec 8.

We can let HGTV know how much we appreciate Alex"s show. It may change their minds about cancellation, or at least, they will know how many want to keep her on. They may have already changed their minds, but I have not heard about that.
Alex's show is the only reason I wanted a satellite dish.

I had heard last spring that this was going to happen. It seems that there was a plan for another quilty show, but not heard anymore about that either. Anyone with solid information should let us know.

Thank you, Norah. I just e-mailed HGTV and hope they get the message. ***As I was writing this, my e-mail messenger posted a reply from HGTV. It's one of those automated response things...but at least they got the e-mail. Let's all 500+ of us send our thoughts!

Yes I to am a fan of ALEX, I was reaally disappointed when it was'nt on today, I know a couple of shows they could take off and put more quilting shows on. I hope I still have America Quilts creatively on Sat AM, As far as I'n concerned they need alot more sewing shows,

Alex is off as of the end of the yr the way I understand it. A lot of quilters from several boards that I have read did the same and tried to make HGTV change thier mind to no avail. But Alex now has an ipod shoot I don't know what its called but she has upgraded to IPods now . I used to have the addy but my computer took a dump and I lost it. But I am sure going to her web page you can find it on there. I understand from what I have seen its her new adventure. I know nothing about IPods shoot I am lucky if I even k now about computers. In fact on second thought I don't. But get by is all. We are still on dial up so couldn't get it anyway. Hope this helps you all.

Whats her Web-page? And I hope HGTV sees what a mistake it was taking her off, whether it was her idea or theirs, They need to replace it with another QUILTING SHOW

I know they do but they are into reality shows, fixer uppers and the like, so they feel like we don't count I guess and have moved on. Its sad too cause that is about the only reason I watched HGTV, I now have trouble finding anything to watch.

Rita,
Norah lists the addresses you need above in the third message.
Years ago Simply quilts was on MWF in the morning and also in the afternoon as well as two shows on Saturday. Sandra Bastina was on TTh in the same time slot. When we moved to PA, we didn't get HGTV and I was so disappointed. Not this!!! I am not a happy camper --- sorry, happy quilter.
I doubt HGTV recognizes that quilting is the largest growing "craft" today. How many CRAFT shows, home repair, redos . . . . . . can we tolerate? They surely should have done some kind of survey to find our (quilter) numbers.
Someone mentioned other forums. Can you share these addys? Thanks. Suzanne
