Kona cotton's whites are really nice and not see through. I have bought some and really been pleased with them.

I think Kona feels coarse and clunky compared to some other fabrics.

Ditto on the bleached muslin. It feels so nice and soft after it has been washed. There was another one I saw at Joann and at my LQS that is a pricier muslin. I want to say it was called Southern Belle or something like that. Anyone else know the real name of what I am thinking of?

I bought a bolt of 50/50 cotton/bamboo from Joann's at 1/2 price (35.00) and loved it so much I went back and bought a second bolt. It's thin, but not transparent, and feels amazing. I have already used 1/2 of the first bolt. It was pre-packaged near the cutting table.

Working now with Kona "Snow" and 30's prints. I like Kona for solids, though I usually get mottled fabrics instead of plain solids...

I like the white on whites, they are not as see through and I love the texture they add to my quilts :D:D:D

I buy the Kona at JoAnns, or the more expensive white muslim anywhere. The cheaper stuff is so see through!

I just bought 6 yards of white Kona at JoAnns last week. It was not on sale, but I had the 50% off coupon, which is always a better deal than their sale price. It is $5.99/yd. I have a bolt of white muslin, but it is sort of thin for this particular quilt, which is very time consuming. Embroidery and applique are part of the quilt, so I want something that will last and wear well.

I'm usually a KONA girl, but the bamboo/cotton sounds worth a try.
