Default Million Pillowcase Challenge

A few days ago, a lovely lady came into my now-closed quilt shop looking for discounted fabric to make pillowcases for a local orphanage and shelter for female soldiers-returned from war-and having adjustment issues. I gave her the pillowcases we had collected, a few pillowcase kits and about 10 yards of fabric. She became so excited she had to leave to get lunch as her excitement caused her blood sugar to drop to the 30's. I cannot begin to tell you how happy her happiness made me. What a wonderful last chapter to my brick and mortar store!

So sorry to hear about the shop closing but what a special person you were to help this lady help so many others. There is a special place in Heaven for people like you! Thank you for your generosity!

Well that is sad you had to close. Very nice that you donated and helped her out.

I am sorry to hear you had to close your store but what a wonderful thing you did. God will bless you.

I too make pillowcases but I give them 50 at a time to children's ward at hospitals. I am working on 58 right now for a lady whose daughter died at 15 from cancer, I made 50 before for her. To date I have made well over 300 pillowcases.
I didn't think to give them to battered women shelters, we have on here in Hattiesburg.
