What a wonderful gift, from a 9x10 to 16x34! Sounds like a great place to get lost in for weeks. Enjoy every min. of it. My roon is the 9x10, I keep trying to get it to stretch, but so far it has not stretched an inch. We would love to see pic's when you are in your haven.

I guess we are all in the same scrap bag. I have been trying to reorganize for months, but I keep getting sidetracked by other projects, especially since Halloeenw. I have been playing with my wool stash more, especially for Christmas,; I have been playing with Shabby Chic cards, mementos, etc.; and art quilts, which calls for beads and embellishments. It is a chore separating stuff for different activities. I also have a TON of decorator fabric, I really need to dispose of that in some way or another if I can just make myself do it. Here's luck to all of us.

I got hung up on cleaning and storage and didn't even address the UFPs, etc. I am not going to count! I am not going to try to prioritize them, I am just going to try to get one or two done a month. I haven't been to a craft or fabric store this month (uh oh, yes I have, I had to get some ribbon), well only once, but I am also going to try to stay out of those places to save money and to try to reduce the stuff I have on hand. I have a large stash and I really do need to work from that.

I agree with michelleoc - there comes a time when I have to straighten up my sewing room so that I can mess it up again. Although that's when I find a couple more UFO's. Oh well, quilting is my sanity, so guess I'd better get busy. LOL.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who can start out to organize and end up compelled to start new projects! This goes for pretty much all creative pursuits I engage in, which is quite a list. And I have ADD. However, I can boast that over this winter I did pull out and go through my fabric - all kinds, because I do different things such as make doll clothes in addition to quilting - and about 3 grocery bags full total went to the DAV. Yay me!

I don't know about y'all, but I have been working to overcome a tendency to "feel sorry for" fabric that I end up with from people giving me stuff. I have some hoarder genes in me and I am usually the one who exclaims "Wait! Don't throw that away! I'll take it!" And then it sits for years while I think, "hmmm . . . maybe I could make that work with the right trim" or thoughts like that. Well. I took no prisoners this time. I looked at a fabric and if it was ugly as sin, into the bag it went and buh-bye!

I cleaned my sewing room last year and found I had multiple rulers/scissors/templates... When I couldn't find one I bought new -- now a year later I can barely find one of each. Looks like I need to start cleaning again..... sigh.

I know I should clean mine up AGAIN but, sigh, just don't have the desire. Guess because I can still find things with a minimum amount of searching. Will wait till it takes a search party before tackling it!

I have a self imposed rule If I want to bring something into my sewing room, something has to go out first. It doesn't always work but i give it a good try.

I try and try to get and keep my sewing space clean and organized but I never seem to have enough space.

Last year I ruler folded ALL my fabric, it took me every spare minute of my time before and after work and all day on my 2 days off. I'm so glad I did, it looks great and now I can (usually) find the fabrics I'm looking for.

I'm working this year on cutting and using my scraps and finishing up all the half done projects. If I can do that I should have enough space so I can keep it organized.
I hate when I need something and I can't find it. To me that's a waste of time I could be doing something more productive and or fun. That's why I like to be organized.
