I am so excited to try fm on my singer 15. The feed dogs are dropped, I practice just fine on felt. When I put the quilt under the needle, I start off good and then the needle breaks! GRrrr! What is happening, I adjusted the tension, changed the thread, a new needle put in again! Same thing, GRRRR!. Please, any suggestions??? I got 3 quilt tops just awaiting!

You've got to get your machine speed and your movement speed coordinated.

Fast machine slow hands...... You are probably not getting the needle out of the 'sandwich' before you move it and when it comes back down the needle is pushed to the side and hit the plate.

I read in another post, that someone suggested a variable speed router control from Harbor Freight for about $20. I'm thinking of getting one for my 201-2 and 15. I'm having the same problem.
