They do!! Both my Viking and My Brother do. The Pfaff lets me know to but it just stops and gives me a message on screen.

My machine dings when it is low on bobbin thread, but yet is will let me sew for two miles once the thread runs out. I would rather a ding when the bobbin is empty not when I still have a quarter of a tank.

I have a friend who sews with a bobbin on top and bottom so she knows when it is going to get empty. I love to use those serger cones to sew because it doesn't run out, now if only they can event a never ending bobbin. I have thre bobbin holders full so I just grab one and go.

One of my machines has a dummy light and will stop, but it still has thread for awhile so it is frustrating.

My Pfaff Quiltsyle 2040 sewing machine displays a low bobbin thread icon when there's about 20 yards of thread left, and flashes when the bobbin is empty.
