Default Fabrics for "Autumn Eyes" quilt by Bigfork Bay Cotton Co.

I purchased the "Autumn Eyes" quilt pattern and not the fabrics as I really didn't like the purple around the bear's forehead and eyes. Wondering if anyone has made this wall hanging using other than the suggested purple fabrics?? I would like to use browns and beiges in the area I mentioned rather than the purple colors. Can anyone direct me to someone who has made up this kit without the purples or if anyone has made this quilt and changed these colors would love to know what you used etc. Thanks SewinSue

I don't see much purple, it's probably just to give more contrast and depth, I suppose you could use other colors but the pattern is very pretty with the purple I couldn't even tell it was purple unless I zoomed up on the pattern because its so minimal

I don't think you'll like the finish with brown or beige where the purple is. Maybe deep, vivid blue would work. Shiney fur is what you're after for an artsy look. By the way, it's a beautiful pattern.

I thought the purple was to mimic shadows. I think you should use purple. Maybe even darker than the sample.

If you really hate the purple, cut out all your other pieces, lay them out, then test other colors with them. I'm a muted, faded purple kind of person. I don't care for the bright purple they are showing. I agree with the others, that it is there for depth & shadow. I'd think in terms of very dark reds, darker blacks, maybe even multiple shades of darker browns. I look forward to seeing this beautiful pattern stitched out.
