People used to collect them like they do buttons. Don't know if they do now or not. I don't know where you would look either.

I got all of these at a garage sale for $3! There is over 10 # of spools in that basket. In the second picture, I took some fabric scraps and wrapped it around some old plastic spools and glued in in place. I have those in a little glass jar. Pretty to look at!

Don't throw them out, they are worth money. I have a box with wooden spools and put a note on it for when I am gone for my children to not throw thme out.

I put alot of them in a lamp that the bottom unscrews for displaying stuff looks cute sitting on one of my treadles
