I have some pieces of Wool which I have been told I can use in quilts. However, no one told me how to use them.
If anyone has any ideas how to use wool, what patterns, ect, I would appreciate knowing. Thanks, Mariah

Are they washable. If not I wouldn't use them in anything but a wall hanging.

Many wools are washable.

The main things to remember:

1) Avoid hot water
2) Avoid prolonged agitation

One can wash SOME of them on a short gentle cycle on warm or cold.

One can also damp dry them in a dryer. Some people are more comfortable line drying the fabrics or laying them flat to dry.

I have some used garments that I'm thinking about cutting up.
I think I will wash them like I wrote above - and see how they turn out.

If they turn out well - Yippee! If not, I didn't want to use them anyway.

If you do decide to wash these - do colors separately until the water runs clear.

I was thinking wall hanging. What would be a nice easy pattern that would look good--lots of Reds, Blacks, Whites.
Forgot about the washing; will check it out.
Thanks for helping me!
Mariah.

I have used wool for the background of applique pieces.

Thanks for the website. Might just be something I can use. Want to be sure it is washable before doing anything.
Thanks!
Mariah
