Another Yard Sale Find and an "Oblivious" Story
#1
A gal advertised a yard sale with lots of fabric on Craigslist so I PM'd the gals in the area and told them about it, it started at 8 am yesterday so 3 of us, who had never met, were going to try to be there at 8 to meet up and shop. I told them to look for me, I would be wearing all turquoise. Well, I got lost and didn't get there until 8:30 but the other 2 gals did show up, but since both were looking for someone in turquoise, neither were aware they were shopping side-by-side with a fellow board member! And both were gone by the time I got there! But don't worry, we're planning a get together so we can make that right - LOL!
This is what I got. Fabric was $5 a bag and this is what I managed to stuff in a plastic shopping bag (including the quilt top). I also got some antique buttons, some notions, some paperbacks for my hubby and a Pillsbury 100 Grand National Recipes book from 1955 (I collect vintage cookbooks). I spent a whole $10!
One notion I picked up was a Multi-View Lense. There are 25 square individual magnifying blocks on a sheet and if you view one block, you can see it magnified 25 times in rows 5x5 and see what the quilt would look like made up of those blocks. How cool is that!
