is it worth keeping long thin strips of fabric?

What a timely post. I made this with 1 inch strips of fabric. The longer the strip the better. It's called "Locker Hooking". It was a fun project, and it felt good using up scraps.[ATTACH=CONFIG]516345[/ATTACH]

I've made couple rugs with selvage and fabric strips. I use to take bread wrappers and make rugs for outside the kitchen door weighted down with old washers (don't tell DH). Helped to keep dirt from tracking in. Took a while for the dogs to get used to them but they lasted awhile. I need to make some more.
