Default Men's Ties - What to make with them?

I have about 10 of my dad's ties and want to make something for my two brothers and mom. Any ideas would be appreciated....I just can't seem to get inspired to use them. Thanks so much for any help!

I plan to use my father's ties to do a wallhanging for each of my sisters. I want to do the Bow Tie block and put four of them together to make one chain section. I am going to hand embroider a little verse in the center..."Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again". I think I can post this saying here since it is from a garden plaque for sale, if not a moderator can delete it. This project is on my list of things to do, maybe 2013?

I saw a woman's vest front made from ties, and it was so neat! That's my plan when I get enough.

I actually saw a quilt made out of ties at a county fair...they just sewed them together using a circle center...it ended up being around 60 inches round...

Years ago I made a vest for my dad out of ties that my mom had made when they were first married...my mom still wears the vest. I made a bow tie quilt out of the scraps. I also had a bag of scrap silk tie pieces, so I made myself a scarf out of them...a long and skinny one...and I embellished it with buttons. It turned out really nice. I have a lot more scraps of silks. I plan on doing another quilt out of them, but still need to decide for sure which to make.

I made teddy bears for relatives.
Also small pillows about 5"x7" and put a pc of the tie around it.
Pillows made of wool suiting

Ten ties aren't going to go very far - but a small pillow for each person would use a little bit and you'd probably be able to make it stretch. Maybe a small dresden plate for your mom and a churn dash block for each of your brothers?
You could even incorporate a picture of your dad for the centers of the churn dash block and the dresden plate, to finish it off.
