On my Janome I was told to move the top tension from automatic to 6. going a bit slower around the curves with the 6 setting eliminated my eyelashes.

If I even think perhaps something should be ripped out, then it should. You know in your gut when something is not right; that's why you have the thought. You really don't need to ask anyone, because it's already in your head. I find in times like these if I let it go, once the quilt is completed, my eyes immediately go to "the spot" and I KNOW I should have ripped it out.

Not everyone is like this. It wouldn't bother me! Have to mention, though, that I am a reformed perfectionist when it comes to quilts.

I honestly would not rip it out by the time it is washed it should tighten up the stitches.
