I see no reason why you should not put purple in this quilt. I am currently crocheting a baby blanket for my youngest neice out of very bright primary colors with a grapey purple and white thrown in for extra measure. It is coming out very nice and the purple add a certain punch to the blanket. So I am sure that the purple in your quilt will do the same thing. Jeanniebelle

My son - when he was about 2 - had a turquoise jacket with reddish purple fleece inside the sleeves. So when we turned them up, it was exposed next to the turqoise.

Only when I went to sell it did I realize that it was a girl's jacket.

But he loved that jacket and its colors. So go ahead and use what you like.

He's a baby, bet he's not even aware he's a boy! I'm sure he would love the purple!
