I think my sewing machine just died on me! :( I suspect there's some problem with the foot pedal. For a while, I noticed that the machine moves by itself when i accidentally move the foot pedal occasionally, and sometimes it doesn't stop moving when I release the pedal.

Is there anything I could do before I call up the service centre? It's located at some secluded location and I don't drive. :(

    Btw I'm using a Janome 6260.

I have had that happen. It may need a new foot pedal is all.

Buy a new foot petal online. You will save a lot of money.

I would check the wiring into the foot pedal and then as it goes into the connector. Is the connector fitting into the slot in the machine all the way? Is the a kinked area of the cord? There may be a short that has developed inside the wiring in the cord? They do make generic foot pedals. I would call or email your sewing machine maker and speak with customer service. I would check their website and any forum groups available. I would check any you tube videos as well as doing a google search.

As another stated it sounds like it could be the foot pedal. That would be the place to start to determine the cause of this problem.

Good luck with your machine and keep us posted on your results. They might help someone else out in the future.
