I am simply overwhelmed by all your feedback to the pics of my 24 miniquilts. Thank you so much! If I will ever have a lousy sewing day I will go back to that topic and read all your comments over again :D :D

I also received a lot of pms and I do understand that a lot of questions and the answers get "lost" in such a long thread so I will try to answer them here.

Besides the fish and the tumbling blocks all are paper pieced, the tumbling blocks the only handsewn. All others are done on normal copier paper by machine and will have finished size of 6".

The pattern of the little house is called "house in the woods" by reginagrewe.de.

The hearts pattern is called "crazy patch heart" by Carol Doak

The fish I have from candlequilter who posted hers under "fishies anyone".

There is no pattern to the bears in bed quilt. I saw a similar one on this board that inspired me. The heads of the bears are an embroidery file from allstitching.com.

The frame of the top right blue one is seminole technik and I got that from quilterscache as most of the other traditional blocks also.
All I did after printing the templates out was downsizing them with the copier to the desired size.

The rest is regular paper piecing - only smaller, there is no secret to it and there are many tutorials on this board I learned from.

I got a lot of remarks about the white/green pinapple block also and it was one of the easiest!
I would be very happy if you would try it out and see for yourself that it only needs to sew little stitches straigth on a line on the paper!!

I went to allstitching and found the embroidery file in 5x7 frame and 4x4 frame. What size did you use?

I used the 5 x 7 and the seller was so nice to alter the two bears holding the banners. He removed the banners for me. I stitched them on solid light with the fitting border to the patch and placed them on the seamline.
I alsways avoid to stitch on a finished project in case something goes wrong.

It looks like all the bears are the same? Did you use the same fabric for all? cotton? and appliqued them? and did you just a foundation block? to put the bear on and under the "quilt"? thanks, is that an attic window maybe for the foundation block? gotta try this, lots of my babies need this! lolo or do I just need something to play with?

As there are six color groups of blocks I used six different brown cotton fabrics for the bears. The embroidery file from all stitching.com includes a boy bear and a girl bear with a bow in the "hair".

I used an acording piece of fabric to each block and sewed it to the solid color (also six shades) and placed the machine applique right on the seam that it appears like the bears would be tucked under the linnen. After that I sewed it to the blocks and added the attic window and the frame.
Hope this answers all your questions

thanks, think I have it figured out now, what size did your blocks end up being with the attic window and frame? can't wait to get started, I am doing the Farmer's wife sampler quilt now so can use any of those 6 1/2 inch block patterns for the "quilts" perfect timing.
