I also love Quilters Dream. I have used the cotton, wool, green and Dream Angel. I love the way the needle moves so easily through it and the tension seems to be more stable on my longarm during quilting. I think the green is my favorite. All of them drape well on the bed.

I'm happy with any poly-batting that has even thickness throughout. Hobbs is great. Mountain Mist is good too. I'm a hand quilter and I find polyester batting works easiest for that. I've heard silk is great too for handquilting, but I don't want to spend that kind of money. I do not like any kind of cotton batting, even blends for hand quilting. I just can't get my stitches as tiny.

I really like the Warm and Natural and the Warm and White...altho I usually buy the Warm and NAtural....I also like the Hobbs 80/20, depending on what the quilt is for. I have (hope the quilt police are not reading this) used a poly batting but that was not for a bed quilt...it was for a wall hanging or place mats or whatever.

PLease let us know the results of your "survey". I'd be very interested to see the results of this, as I'm sure others will be.

I prefer Hobbs 80/20 for my everyday quilting and Hobbs Heirloom or Tuscany wool for the quilts that I want to see lots of definition with the quilting. They are all resin bonded- no scrim so they resist bearding and wash wonderfully. As a professional long arm quilter, I have tried them all, Hobbs, Dream, Warm, Legacy etc. and still feel very confident that I am providing my customers with the best available batting. Occasionally a customer brings their own batting but almost all of my customers request Hobbs for price and quality. I chose Hobbs in the beginning and still feel strongly that it is the best on the market, so strongly that I sell it to other quilters knowing that they will get the same great results for usually a considerable amount less than the others ( including Jo-Anns with a coupon)!

I used Legacy. The first roll was fine for the price. The second roll seemed thinner so went with Hobbs 80/20 to replace it. Price was about the same. For a nicer batting, but a little pricier, I use Dream products. Love them all.

I bought a roll of Pellon Legacy 80-20 and really like it. It is consistent in quality and does not have thick and thin spots that I have found in other brands. Warm and white/natural seems to have little loft or definition but is easy to manage on the domestic machine.

used wool for project that was hand quilted and loved it......have used just about all at one time or another and the only two that i do not have an allergic reaction with are warm and natural and warm and white so that is all i use now. have several friends that i do the hand sewing of the binding for and continue to have breathing problems with other battings..........my work around is to turn the entire edge and clip it with the clips that are like gymnast haircips, that limits the exposure to the allergins, FYI, if anyone else has this problem.
