I'm in a "top-ten" (or five or three or one...) mood these days.

Today I'd like to hear what your top three favorite quilting books are. And if you can't keep it to three, don't let the limit stop you! ;-) The point here is to compile a list of favorites.

-- Jillaine

Mine are:

1. Singer's _Quilted Projects & Garments_. (http://alturl.com/2hydx) This was a great book for me as a beginner and I have made the Shadowed Square Lap Quilt MANY times in a variety of fabrics. The book teaches basics, offers a variety of squares-- has a sampler quilt-- and uses lovely fabrics.

2. Jane Hall & Dixie Haywood, _Firm Foundations_. (http://alturl.com/of2ew). This is the book that introduced me (unsuccessfully) to paper-piecing (or what they call foundation piecing). I love the variety of blocks, and the collection of quilt samples is inspiring.

3. Debbie Caffrey, _Another Can of Worms_. (http://alturl.com/krmyz). Great technique, great instruction, great fabric and examples. Variety.

Honorable mention goes to Rebecca Wat, _Fantastic Fabric Folding_ (http://alturl.com/ur42u), from which I've made no quilt, though I have made a few of the sample pieces. It's inspirational.

I love the ABC Tumbling Blocks by Marci Baker. It's how to make tumbling blocks WITHOUT y-seams (http://www.amazon.com/ABC-3-D-Tumbli.../dp/0965143961).

Also her Oh My Stars. Same idea, no y-seams (http://www.amazon.com/Marci-Bakers-O...d_bxgy_b_img_b)

And Boo Davis' It's Okay to be Square. She's made very cool designs without triangles/diamonds/etc (http://www.amazon.com/Dare-Square-Qu...9259540&sr=1-1)

Amazon links since they're easy to find, not because I'm telling you to buy them ;)

"Big Book of Scrap Quilts" - Oxmoor House - I want to make about 10 quilts in here
"Doubledipity: More Serendipity Quilts" by Sara Nephew. If you do OBW, you need this quilt to use up all those leftover hexes.
"The Border Workbook" by Jane Kime pieced borders & how to fit them to YOUR quilt.
