I am packing and leaving early in the morning for a quilt retreat. I will take pictures of the envelopes on monday and post. I did take one already but I think I need a dark background so it shows up better

mamaskeeto. I also printed your spreadsheet....thank you for sharing.

I still have all of my envelopes...86 cents was the charge for the majority and they were in cards....some cost $1.12 in cards but they were not as flat.... one cost 66 cents but can't remember if it was in card. a couple were laid out the size of the envelope and them wrapped in press and seal. At first, I had difficulty getting the seal open but by working slowly and carefully the edges did not ravel. Also some were laid very flat, slipped into a sandwich style bag, the zipper edge cut off and then taped closed. Now it's my turn to get mine in the mail for the next birthday Queen.....

MaryEllen, if you go by rules at my house...you're queen until the next birthday, while you're still waiting on candy, or....oh heck I think we should all stay queen!!!

You're Highness...

So, I thought this board was just being quiet. Turns out, I'm not getting notified when new messages come through! So, I'll do better trying to keep an eye out here and try to participate more. A little difficult with a 21-month-old running around, but I'll do my best!

Hey so I thought I would share an FMQ tip - my hands really hurt after a couple of hours of FMQ from grabbing the fabric to keep it tight (I quilt on midarm machine). I was going to buy a pair of Grabaroos since I thought those would allow me to lay my hands flat on the area I was FMQing rather than grabbing the fabric. I was smart though - I read some of the opinions on the forum, and since I hate gimmicky gadets, I took some advice and started with a pair of $1.99 gardening gloves with the little grippers that I bought at Walmart. First thing I did was to cut off the fingertips so I could pick up pins, thread needles, etc. Then I found that the little grippers did not hold the fabric the way I thought they would. I figured the gloves were not going to work, but then I had an idea - I sprayed the palm and fingers of each glove with spray glue and let them dry for several hours. Voila! I got just the right amount of tackiness and the gloves work GREAT. I may still buy Grabaroos, but for now these really help - my FMQ is much smoother and my hands don't hurt!!

Happy Sunday!

I have had to redo my packages. The fabric I inherited from Grandmother I am unsure if some of it is 100% cotton. There was some that I knew was not, so they were skipped over for this swap. I am in the process of cutting new fabric. Hope to get March postal by the weekend along with April (when the addresses come on the 20th). I am going to send an extra baggie of assorted fabrics. Please accept my apologies for being slow on sending. I wanted to make sure I was following the rules.

Enjoy your Sunday evening.
