Amanda - your label is very pretty. Mine too is very plain compared to yours.

I'll have to doctor it up some when I get it back with all your signatures.

I've been having fun with the Mardi Gras row. Yesterday, I got my jester hat pieces bonded to the backing fabric and then I designed a block with my EQ software for the other two blocks. Probably won't get to sewing until next week - my husband wants to head up north again this weekend. Unfortunately, when we go up there - for these short visits - I don't get much sewing time.

Custom-made mardi gras blocks! I can't wait!

How do you make those labels? I would love that!

Oooohhhh - pretty label! You did a really nice job on that. Mine is so plain in comparison.

Boop - I've been working on your row and am ready for it whenever you're ready to send. Can't wait to see whether my chosen fabrics work with your row!
Within the next couple of days I will send it out. Had to slow down. From the eye infection I have deposits on my corneas. The doc said it's like the white water spots on glass and it just needs to go away by itself. My left eye is s 20-80 right now. Really afarid i was losing the eye sight until she explained things. Right eye pretty cleared up. But it isn't stopping my mind from spinning with ideas. Can you tell me how to make a label or could I pay you to make one for me? What ever fabrics you have chosen will work. Just make it a reflection of you and have fun!!!

Thanks for all of the comments about the label. I made this label using Microsoft Word. I found some clip art and used it as a border and then added the text. I printed it out on printer fabric that I purchased from JoAnns. First time I have ever used printer fabric. I am pretty happy with the results so far.

That is how I made my label as well - only I didn't use any clip art. I used just text and I plan to put a fabric border on once I get it back with all of your signatures.

OK Boop - here is a sneak peak. This block is going to be the center of my row for your quilt top. I am going to do all different variations of friendship stars, which I love and think are very appropriate for our swap. I'm using the prettiest batiks I can find. I am crazy about batiks and I hope you like these as much as I do... This block is actually called "Carol's Star," but it looks to me like two friendship stars stacked on top of each other.

I hope you like it!

I'm glad your eyes are clearing up. Take care of yourself and no hurry on your row. I need to finish up a couple of other things before I make more friendship stars anyway. I don't have to send it on again until April 15, so we have lots of time...

Lara - you are an artist. You need to give up your day job and spend your time creating these beautiful things for all of us to enjoy.

IMHO.

Aw shucks, thanks Theresa! I'm working on it... plans are in the works to leave the rat race behind. I'll fill you all in once I know something more definitively. But, if I quit my day job, my new day job will be entertaining three little people - so I'm not sure I'll get much more sewing done than I do now!
