OK - Ladies. I put my Twirling triangles away for now. It's too big a job for me to quilt on my machine and I don't have the time to hand quilt it right now. Soooo.... It becomes a UFO.

Anyway - I started pulling fabrics and block patterns for my row. Looking for the patterns I want to use - I found quite a few with "Diamond" in the name. When I was thinking about my topic - Jewels, I was leaning towards jewel tones - but I think my row is going to be Diamond Blocks made in jewel tones. I found a cool pattern on quilterscache.com that is called the "Diamond Star" and another called "Interwoven Diamonds".

Finally there is one called "Fabric Boxes" that I am going to try out. That one is paper piecing which I have not done before. I figured I might as well do one experimental block while doing this exercise - and it might as well me on my row. I can always not use it if it doesn't turn out. :)

So - over and out for now. I need to narrow down my fabric choices and post a photo for you to see.

HI. I went to quilters cache earlier this week and picked out amish diamond and slanted diamond as patterns with jewel tones.

Love your fabrics, Theresa. Those colors are going to fun to work with. I've also been looking for diamond patterns.

Pretty! I love the peacock feather fabric!

I've been working on my row too - it's been so quiet on our thread, but I think we've all been busy sewing... I have another pastel spiderweb block done, and I've decided to do some applique in between. The spiderweb blocks were reminding me of strings of beads, so I'm going to applique a string of beads connecting them. I hope it works out in reality the way it does in my head!

I have plans for everyone's rows... I just need to see them in person to confirm what I want to do. Exciting!

My husband even liked this block; and he never says anything. Lara - share your second block when you get a chance. It helps me plan what I am going to do for your row. :)
