I know I'm going to just love it because it came from you. I am working to get yours ready for the quilter, next week is a quiet week here on the home front so I am hoping to get it to her quickly.

Thank you, and I know I will love mine as well. We still have plenty of time. I'm so excited, it's getting close and I can't wait to get my new treasure.

everybody appears to e about done with their quilts. I must be the slowpoke of the bunch. i am just about ready to put the blocks together and add borders. once that is done, the actual quilting process should go pretty fast. I assure you i havent been lazy--i have completed one twin, one lap and one crib and have another twin on the frame which will soon be completed. This one just got shovedto the bottom of the stack a little more often then i would have liked.

Well I machine quilted the whole quilt, looked great..... on the front! The back was full of loops!! ARGH!!! At least it is fairly easy to rip out, but oh boy did I learn a lesson..... if everything is going to smoothly to be true, it probably is!! So half of it ripped back out, going to finish the other half today and start again, this time checking the back. Good thing we have until July LOL

SPOILER FOR NURSE BONNIE - Help, I need help!!!

Hi everybody. I have the center done and need to add the last boarder. Now I am undecided with the boarder for the second time. I already changed the boarder and the second time around doesn't please me. Oh boy!
Also having doubts about the size/set up. My center is squared and I was going to finish it at 60x60, however having seconds thoughts. Should I add different boarders so I elongate it?
What sizes are you coming up with? Anybody going squared?
I guess I should have followed a pattern but too late now that I am almost done.

I am attaching a Pic #1 with the center done.
Pic#2 is auditioning the boarder that I was appliqueing, It is a lattice in violet with a vine going around, there are some stems that will end in a little yellow flower that I haven't done yet.
Pic #3 is a close up

This is what is bothering me, I think, I found the boarder too white and not busy enough as it is the center. I feel like the boarder should go towards either a print violet fabric as used in the center or the dark violet.
Please tell me what you think so you help me identifying what is wrong and where to go.

thanks all

Hi everyone! Your long lost swap coordinator here... I've been so busy with work that I haven't had a lot of time to stay in touch. But I am TRYING to catch up.

I need to do a reality check with a bunch of people on this swap who have not been in communication. So look for some possible re-arrangements. So glad you all are holding onto your quilts until your partner is done with theirs.

There are two months left. That means we should each be hitting 75% complete by about now. And THAT means the quilt you are making should be approaching sandwich stage.

I need you to look into your hearts and figure out if you're going to be able to complete and ship your partner's quilt by July 1. We have a diversity of folks here in terms of procrastination (or its opposite-- those who finished their quilts in one month!) and in terms of "I know I can hunker down and finish and ship by July 1."

Please be in touch with me. We also (again!) have a number of participants with health challenges. I know from last year, that that didn't stop a lot of you, though I don't know how, given what I knew you all went through.

I am NOT going to blame or make anyone feel bad if they're having trouble. Life happens. Heck, I've been a really lousy, absent coordinator this time around. So no throwing stones from this quarter. If you need help, let me know. If you know you have to bail, let me know NOW. And be in touch with your partner. What we really learned from last year is that it is FAR better (and makes everyone feel better, including you) if you communicate what's going on. A missing-in-action partner is really a drag. We'd rather here that you're alive and just can't finish the quilt than not hear from you at all.

Not that I'm handing out easy-out passes. I want all of us to complete our commitments. But if you can't, let me know now, PLEASE! Thank you!

Oh, and by the way, even though I've been absent, my progress on my partner's quilt is good. I sent it off to be Long-armed (a first for me), and it JUST came back today. It's lovely. I just need to finish the binding.
