2023 - Birthday Candy Swap (2.5" squares)
#223
New addition to our group
All, I have communicated with Barb, the original leader of this swap, and given her the information about our first birthday. So, we are now 20. A nice round number for this year's swap. As Gannyrosie said, Barb still has time to get her package ready and out for our February birthday. Barb will be another on-time swapper and has good ideas to share with us too. She has a fall birthday, so no rush to assemble another package right away.
I posted a link to a block that uses 2.5's yesterday. Here is my sample. I like the block and on the whole, other than the "arrows" it was a breeze to assemble. The arrows are my problem not a problem with the pattern. I have done them before and they drove me silly. Will I do a whole quilt of these? Likely, but not immediately. I need to consider colors and what I have on hand to make a cohesive looking quilt.
Happy quilting everyone as you prep for the Super Bowl. (Whether you watch or distract yourself with other things. Tee-Hee-Hee)

Thank you for letting me join the fun this year.
so excited for you Janice to be first instead of always being last to get your goodies each year.
if someone can remind me how to add photos again that would be great. I can show you a quilt hat I made my sister with candy size squares.

Happy to have 20, a nice round number! Hi, Barb, I’m new this year! *waves*
Loving all the inspiring pictures! I saved the Quilted Twins site.
For me, the easiest way to add photos on this board has been to “Go Advanced” for my reply, and then scroll down a bit to find “Manage Attachments.” From there you’ll get a pop up window where you can add a photo from your device. It has to be smaller, so you might have to resize it. My iPad has an app that does so, but it’s even easier on a real computer or laptop.
Hope this helps!

I started this 3d sphere 3 years ago, put it aside and finally got her done. It wasca pattern from getas quilts. It only came with the pattern . I'm not sure if I want to applique it by hand or machine stitch it yet. Went thru several backgrounds and it either white or black. I'm liking the black, though I need to get some more. It's not very big so I'm thinking wall hanging.
what's your thoughts on how to apply it to the background.
