I'm okay with that as long as they are pretty Oh wait.....I have yet to see an ugly batik!

I really like the scrappy look of using 100 or more fabrics in a quilt and swapped charms means I get just that! (it's also helping my charm box that overfloweth) My oldest daughter has claimed this one, so it looks like it will be a twin size. I have made 77 of the 200+ blocks that it will take.

Pamela, welcome aboard. I think you'll find the ladies here very welcoming and generous with their time, comments, and charms

Sewbiz, thank you....this has been a rough road to be on. Now we just pray and hope for peace.

Red, so very sorry for what you're going through right now. I hope your mother is comfortable. Hospice is wonderful. Every time we have had to deal with them they have been exceptional.

Count me in for the swap. I will plan on 10 bags. If it turns out to be too much for you right now, please let us know. Everyone would surely understand.

Crispy, the 4 patch HST's are 5.5" unfinished, 5" finished. With charm squares I made them Jenny Doan's method: put 2 charms right sides together and sew 1/4" around all 4 sides, then cut in half diagonally both ways. I usually don't like leaving myself bias edges like that, but I am having no issues with these blocks. (probably because they are small) You can starch the charms if you are worried about bias. Trim your HST units to 3", then sew them together like a 4 patch, making sure your colors are where you want them. I will set these on point as you see on my design wall.

You can also make your HST's from 2.5" strips if you have those. Place 2 right sides together and sew down both long ends. Use your 45* angle on your ruler and make a bunch of HST's that measure the same as the method above. Trim to 3" units. Again, the edges are bias, so be gentle and use starch if you'd like. I have used both methods here as I had strips and charms I wanted to use.

As I’m cutting these lm realizing that if I send 12 (which equals a fat 1/4) I leave none for myself. Can I change my commitment to 11 bags? I’m rediscovering why I bought these lovely batiks in the first place!
