Default 5" Charm Swap: Theme is (almost) Anything Goes!

***The Theme for this month’s Swap is (almost) Anything Goes!***

A few changes to the rules, folks, so … let the games begin!

1. You may swap up to 15 bags with 15 different 5" square charms in each bag. Send the kind you hope to receive. Only send 100% quilting cotton squares!

Do Not Send: thin fabrics, homespuns, dotted swiss, denim, flannel, polyester or polyester blends, eyelet, wool, linen, fleece, knit, broadcloth, seersucker, Etc. Only send 100% quilting cotton, please.

2. Please try to not send fabrics already swapped before on this board

3. Take your time cutting and be sure you have correctly cut 5” squares. No one wants wonky squares! I’ve done this by mistake, too. It happens, but try to be careful

Cutting/Packaging Method:
We will be sending 15 Different fabrics in each bag we swap. All your bags can have the same mixture in them, or different, but you cannot repeat fabrics in any one bag. Please do not put more than one holiday fabric in any one bag. We will be swapping bag for bag, so there must be 15 different fabrics in each bag. Please put your board name & location on every bag you are swapping. For instance, "Redstilettos, West Bend, WI".

4. Put all your swap bags in one big ziplock then affix a tag on it that includes your name and mailing address, as well as your board name. That will keep them together in your package and if it happens to get torn open in shipment - your address will be there for the P.O. to return to you. Padded flat rate envelopes are the best shipping method, the paper ones have a tendency to break open. You can order the padded flat rate envelops from the post office online, in packages of 10, and they are free. The cardboard type seams to rip too often for them to be reliable.

5. Postage: It costs $7.25 to ship the padded flat rate envelop. Please include a USPS Money Order for $7.25 in your big ziplock to pay to return ship to you. Very well hidden cash or stamps are okay as well. I cannot ship back to you until I receive payment. No personal or company checks, please. Also, Please put your board name on the outside of your package. I don't open these until I am ready to distribute, and having your board name on the outside allows me to keep track of any I may be missing, or allow me to give feedback to you when your package has arrived.

6. Sign-Ups end September 17th. All charms need to be in my hands by September 26th, with final distribution by September 29th. Packages arriving late will be returned unswapped.

If I receive All swaps early, distribution back to swappers will be early, too!
Let’s aim to be early! If I do not receive early, distribution happen by September 29th

I’m looking forward to having you!

If you have questions, please PM me,
Thank you!

So the "almost" anything goes refers to those squares you may have had for quite some time but haven't used. Since many of us have these, and wouldn't need to cut into a FQ, I'm increasing the number of baggies you can swap from 12 up to 15 Providing these are not squares you've swapped before I believe we can squeeze 15 into the same size envelope!

I did get the green light for an I-spy swap and will most likely do this as a separate swap. Stay tuned!

Any questions please feel free to PM me or ask here. Many people will know your answers, and if we don't, we'll make it up as we go along. It's how we roll!

This sounds like fun! However, I have a question. Will this include Holiday themed fabrics? I enjoy the holidays, but I don't personally utilize holiday themed fabrics. For me the usefulness of such compared to the time involved isn't something I personally find to be worthwhile. I hope this isn't a problem. I just have so many other projects to which I am devoted, that I don't usually purchase or make holiday themed items. I am just asking at this point, in order to make a well- informed decision. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

I also want to let everyone know ,just in case I may or may not have been prompt in replying to anyone or in case I was slow or failed to reply. This format is a little different than I previously have been used to using and with other responsibilities weighing on me, sometimes time gets away from me. Thank all of you for your hard work, generosity, and kind comments, regardless of whatever time lapses may happen to any of us at any time.

Default Up To 15 Bags

In reading the post want to make sure I understand are we doing 15 bags or up to 15 what is the minimum you are accepting. This will be my first time trying this and want to make sure I understand the instructions.
