Default 5" Color Theme Charm Swap - ORANGE

[/B]September 5” Charm Swap – Color Theme (ORANGE). Sign up ends Tuesday, September 19th. Swaps need to be in my hands by September 28th, with final distribution by October 2nd.

***The Color Theme for this Summer Swap is ORANGE***

1. Color theme of ORANGE means a Minimum of 80% of the print has to be some shade of ORANGE. Yes, they can have other colors within that 5” square as well, but the predominant color must be a minimum of 80% ORANGE.

2. You may swap up to 10 bags with 15 different 5" square charms in each bag. Please fussy cut if your fabric print requires it. Send the kind you hope to receive. Only send 100% quilting cotton squares!

Do Not Send: thin fabrics, homespuns, dotted swiss, denim, flannel, polyester or polyester blends, eyelet, wool, linen, fleece, knit, broadcloth, seersucker, Etc. Only send 100% quilting cotton, please.

3. Take your time cutting and be sure you have correctly cut 5” squares. No one wants wonky squares

CUTTING/PACKAGING METHOD:
We will be sending 15 DIFFERENT fabrics in each bag we swap. All your bags can have the same mixture in them, or different, but you cannot repeat fabrics in any one bag. We will be swapping bag for bag, so there must be 15 different fabrics in each bag. Please put your board name & location on every bag you are swapping. For instance, "Redstilettos, West Bend, WI".

4. Put all your swap bags in one big ziplock then affix a tag on it that includes your name and mailing address, as well as your board name. That will keep them together in your package and if it happens to get torn open in shipment - your address will be there for the P.O. to return to you. Tyvek envelopes or padded flat rate envelopes are the best shipping method. You can order the padded flat rate envelops from the post office online, in packages of 10, and they are free.

5. Postage: It costs $7.20 to ship the padded flat rate envelop. Please include a USPS Money Order for $7.20 in your big ziplock to pay to return ship to you. Very well hidden cash or stamps are okay as well. I cannot ship back to you until I receive payment. No personal or company checks, please. Also, Please put your board name on the outside of your package. This will help me stay organized knowing who I may be receiving from or waiting for. Please be sure to send enough postage.

6. PM (Private Message) me to sign up and indicate how many bags you intend to swap and include your real name and address to ship back to you. I will respond to you with my mailing address for you to mail all of your swaps to me for distribution to all swappers. Positive feedback for earlybirds will be awarded.

7. If I receive ALL swaps early, distribution back to swappers be early, too!
Let’s aim to be early! If I do not receive early, distribution will be by October 2nd.

I’m looking forward to having you

If you have questions, please PM me

Would everyone be so kind as to chime in on something for me? Several of you have mentioned swapping orange for halloween...I know several of us don't celebrate it. So, as you are prepping your charms, could you let us know how much of what you are sending is holiday related? I don't want anyone to change what they are sending, just might choose to sit this one out if I would be receiving a lot of themed fabrics. Make sense? Thanks in advance!

I'm in! I'll PM this evening when I get up. Already in bed.

As far as Halloween or Thanksgiving fabrics, I won't be sending any of those. I'd prefer not to receive any, as I rarely use any holiday fabrics, but it's okay if I do.

I'll be sitting this one out since I don't use Halloween fabrics. See you next time! Translation: I'll be lurking until next time

None of my fabrics will be Halloween based. Just....orange. Lots and lots of orange.

I'm wondering if I should say to Exclude Halloween fabric if more of you ladies would be interested then?
Just a thought. I'm open

I assume the theme is orange not Halloween. if we do red, you do not mean christmas. If we do green, I assume you do not mean landscape grasslands etc. I don't think I have any Halloween but I do have pumpkins and fall foliage, and I know I have no christmas fabrics. That said, I'll be searching my stash for 80% orange. If I don't have enough, I'll have an excuse to go to the Local Fabric Store and buy a little more than I need for the swap so i can hoard a little orange for myself. I'll look in modern, blenders, 30's, traditional, all across the spectrum. Count me in, even though this is a hard color. But we should all carry some in our stash for a balance.......Jane

Jane I do agree. I have to buy all the fabric for this one as I do not have any orange in my stash. Although I am not going to buy Halloween fabric, I am blessed to get any orange for 5x5 stash.

I only have 1 that is a flock of turkeys in fall colors with orange background, hope that is alright.
No Halloween for or from me! A previous themed swap sent me candy corn charms, don't know where to use them!
I gathered peachy orange to burnt orange & a lot of in betweens to go with creams & browns for a Farmer's Wife quilt so that's what I'm using for the orange swap...

I hope we get some with a white background, it really lends balance.
hugs,
dj
