Default 5" Color Theme Charm Swap - Yellow

January 5” Charm Swap – Color Theme (Yellow). Sign up ends Tuesday, January 9th. Swaps need to be in my hands by January 19th, with final distribution by January 27th.

***The Color Theme for this month’s Swap is Yellow***

1. Color theme of Yellowmeans a Minimum of 80% of the print has to be some shade of Yellow. Yes, they can have other colors within that 5” square as well, but the predominant color must be a minimum of 80% Yellow.

2. You may swap up to 12 bags with 15 different 5" square charms in each bag. Please fussy cut if your fabric print requires it. Send the kind you hope to receive. Only send 100% quilting cotton squares!

3. This is not to be considered a holiday themed swap. There are many on the board who would prefer for the holiday fabric to be eliminated or kept to a minimum. If you are in doubt, please ask before sending.

Do Not Send: thin fabrics, homespuns, dotted swiss, denim, flannel, polyester or polyester blends, eyelet, wool, linen, fleece, knit, broadcloth, seersucker, Etc. Only send 100% quilting cotton, please.

4. Take your time cutting and be sure you have correctly cut 5” squares. No one wants wonky squares

Cutting/Packaging Method:
We will be sending 15 Different fabrics in each bag we swap. All your bags can have the same mixture in them, or different, but you cannot repeat fabrics in any one bag. We will be swapping bag for bag, so there must be 15 different fabrics in each bag. Please put your board name & location on every bag you are swapping. For instance, "Redstilettos, West Bend, WI".

5. Put all your swap bags in one big ziplock then affix a tag on it that includes your name and mailing address, as well as your board name. That will keep them together in your package and if it happens to get torn open in shipment - your address will be there for the P.O. to return to you. Padded flat rate envelopes are the best shipping method. You can order the padded flat rate envelops from the post office online, in packages of 10, and they are free.

6. Postage: It costs $7.20 to ship the padded flat rate envelop. Please include a USPS Money Order for $7.20 in your big ziplock to pay to return ship to you. Very well hidden cash or stamps are okay as well. I cannot ship back to you until I receive payment. No personal or company checks, please. Also, Please put your board name on the outside of your package. I don't open these until I am ready to distribute, and having your board name on the outside allows me to keep track of any I may be missing, or allow me to give feedback to you when your package has arrived.

7. If I receive All swaps early, distribution back to swappers will be early, too!
Let’s aim to be early! If I do not receive early, distribution happen by January 27th.

I’m looking forward to having you!

If you have questions, please PM me,
Thank you!

Welcome ladies and gents to the new 2018 5" charm swap.

I changed a few (little) things. Please use a bubble or padded envelope. The card-boardy ones can rip easily, as some of our past members have shown us.

Also, I changed the number of bags from 10 to 12. Some of you had indicated you get 12 squares per fq, and would like to see this changed. You are certainly welcome to only exchange 10 if that is your preference

Please remember to place your name and screen name on the outside of the package so I can keep track. When we get 13-20 people exchanging, it is easy to start losing track of what is on my kitchen table! LOL

Welcome back, let's continue to have fun, and hope all went well for everyone for their holidays.

hugs!

Just cut 10 bags a couple of days ago and ready to mail! I would do 12, but then I don't get to keep the 2 extras for me. Will probably mail these on Saturday...

Jaba, my tracking said this was delivered to you several weeks ago, not just recently. Please confirm you have received (at the new address you wanted it sent to).

I guess this is a good reminder for all of us. If you put an address on the outside of a package, please make sure it is where you want it sent to I can't keep track of packages any other way. Thanks so much!

Now Jaba, whatcha gonna make with your pretties?

I just received a PM from Quiltin'Nan, stating my all caps for YELLOW (or whatever color we are on for the month) is shouting, and if I do it again, she will delete the post.

I started doing so because I have (on at least two swaps) received squares with predominantly (or all!) of a different color.

So. Just re-read what month/color we are on and I guess all will be okay

In the mean time, I hope once the holidays are over more will participate. I know the last few weeks for me have been nutty between mom in the hospital, grandma placed in a dementia unit, and the holidays. I'm ready for retreating into my sewing area and never coming out! LOL!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Apparently Red it went to another address, they sent it back to the PO, then it went back to Wyoming again and was forwarded to Florida again. This time it arrived. Until we go back to Wyoming they will be sent from and to the Florida address. And that address is new, we just bought a house here (3 weeks ago) instead of the double wide. Just wanted more room, a pool and a big garage. Hubby even ordered a shop for his hobbies and it's on site and he's working at getting it all set up. Now we just need to sell the double wide...

Sorry to hear about the message from Quiltin'Nan, but I say NO do not change the way you are doing the swap. Having the chosen colour of the month in caps is very helpful...saves having to read till you find what you are looking for. This is a quilting site, not a site for members to start sending messages on what they don't want to see or how they want things done. If the admin has no problem about how you send the messages out then that is find by me. And it is not anyone's place in the membership to be threatening or trying to coerce you or anyone else into doing something that they don't care for. Sorry Quiltin'Nan but on this one I feel you have overstepped your bounds. If you feel like you are being yelled at with the colour in caps then please by all means just don't participate, end of story.

and on that note yes I am in for YELLOW and will be having my 12 bags in the mail soon
