well, i have seen stashes that could easily become an on-line store-no room for customers to walk around in the space. mine is in a series of plastic shoe box containers that fit into bookcases under the windows. and some on the table because i haven't decided where to put them- not nearly in the same league. more than some, less than some. but when it comes to a particular pattern or idea i always seem to need something more or different. i have been saving money this past week because someone hacked my magic cc , the one that is a debit, too, and i am waiting for the replacement card. actually, i'm sort of enjoying not buying. ooo, bite my tongue! the devil made me say those words!! i must be ill, check for fever, see any spots? brat, you're a medical wonder, do you see anything wrong with me? you can tell me i'm strong. no, wait, don't tell me! i need my teddybear.

congratulations! I guess if you like have a 1000 square foot home with four of you well four bins would probably be pushing it right? but if you live in a 10,000 sq foot home four bins would be like you own hardly ANY fabric. all perspective. I have a regular size room pretty empty for a table and some bins and well two bins are fabric one is felt and one has a couple unfinished projects donated to me to finish and I feel like it has a lot of stuff. My issue with fabric is that most I didnt buy. I wonder if I had picked it all out myself would it feel crowded ? doubt it. I think within the next two years I will have cycled through enough of this stuff to actually be mostly mine. wow. then I can hord my own fabric right?

is it hoarding? or just saving? if you can give stuff away, or throw away, you're not hoarding. if you have to keep it, no matter what, that's hoarding. i have been keeping the boxes from on-line purchases, and it occurs to me that boxes are not that hard to come by, so if i keep just one or two, i will still have plenty when i need one. also, dh doesn't know it, but i'm looking for a new home for the vinyl records from days gone by. and somethings will learn to reside in the dump. too much stuff and not enough room! i'm taking orders-- tell me what you want and i'll see if i have it! my new motto---better your home, than mine.

Ha Ha... too much stuff! I fill that one! I wish I had enough money in postage, or time to say you pay for postage it is yours! But, I am going to be headed back to Oregon on Wednesday soooo it either fits in the pick up or it gets tossed! Or else I can leave it behind and let the hubby worry about getting rid of it or giving it away to a good charity! I just wish I had more time, or more space in my truck!

I am amazed at how well those bags work that Suck the air out and flatten stuff! I have a few and I am using them on my batting first and foremost! Batting costs too much to leave any of it behind!

Well there was a reason I stopped by here but for the life of me I can't remember what it was.... I will wait till I get to Oregon before I start sewing. So my partner "LeBrat" will just have to stay in suspense on what I am making for her!

My first night on the road will be at My Son's house, and then just depending on time and weather I will arrive in Oregon at my Sisters house, first stop, then on to Mom's house. She has surgery on Monday! So I want to arrive before Sunday night!

I considered posting a teaser pick for Nancia last night, but my phone was in the other room & honestly, I didn't have the energy to stop sewing & go get it, lol. Now that I hear she's been putting Kitty in the sucky bag, I'm not sure rewarding her behavior would have been a good thing!

We have some of those bags too. My boyfriend decided we needed to use the space under the 2 futons (which serve as guest beds) in our house with storage boxes. We got the ones on wheels, then despite my warning that the duvets would not fit without intervention, he tried it anyway. Then we went & bought sucky bags. They work well for the duvets and spare pillows, which we put in the dryer for a few minutes when we take them out. I have to say, he was in the middle of building this house when we met, and I would NOT have picked it. It was the smallest floorplan ready to go in this subdivision without paying an architect to draw new plans. There's probably 20 more just like it in our section now. I don't get it. There's NO STORAGE other than 1 coat closet and 2 tiny linen closets. He figured he didn't need storage since he'd 2 guest rooms as of when he picked the floorplan. Then he met me & within 16 months of moving in, there were 3 of us living here instead of 1. We were given first option on the house across the street from his best friend a couple weeks ago, but he said moving was too much trouble & wouldn't even go look at it. I would have had a nice BIG sewing room then, and wouldn't have to have it also be the guest room!

I have to say, I am not a fabric hoarder. I may whimper a little when I cut into a fabric I really like in preparation to send it off to someone else, but I can do it.

I have a couple pieces too that I think oh crud I was saving that.. then when I work on it its the same thrill as if I had made it for me seeing it transform.. 10,000 and then some more out there waiting to be taken home ..

Nancia you made me laugh so hard with your cat looks so much smaller. thanks for the morning chuckle. now people will wonder why I am smiling.

Dustysmom I moved into this tiny 550 sq foot cottage one small closet. vacuums clothing everything had to fit. then Steve moved in with me. And my children decided living with mom was a much better idea. Dad has 4k sq feet mom 550. sure good idea. couch floors someone was always somewhere. four days a week four of us argh one learns you do not keep what you really dont need. it was a good time however and I loved the cottage and the memories. When you move and get these things called closets.. OMG .. I am one who tosses however. Every six months use it or toss it.
well off to have so much fun at the clinic. yippee.. but I will be home to sew again this afternoon and life will be oh so good. should hit 58 today. wowsa.

Nacia, If you find a good home for vinyl records, please pass the site on to me. We have over 400 records in 4 boxes that DH got all put onto CD's but now we need to find these a home. They may just go to the thrift shop as that will be the last time we are moving them.I need to go thru my stash in coming year too and clean out things I will never use. This year is work on UFO's ...next year hopefully sort through stash. Wish me luck.

There are plenty of stores online that buy and sell vinyl records. Depending on the artist, they can be worth a significant amount of money. When I finally got my dad's photos from his widow, 5 years after he died, there was a single vinyl album in there too. I can't remember who it was, but I know my dad well enough to know that if he saved that one, it meant something to him. I looked it up online & it was selling for about $60 at the time. What's in that box, and the toybox/hope chest my dad made Dusty are the only 2 things I have of him, so I can't see myself getting rid of any of it, but if I were, that's the route I'd go. A little time digging to see what's worth selling could make you some extra fabric money! Those that aren't worth keeping, I'm sure some crafters would love to buy cheap. For some reason, bowls made out of melted record albums is a big thing right now. Just put them in the oven on a low temp, laid flat on an upside down glass bowl & watch your bowl emerge!

ok honestly dustysmom what could you put in a vinyl bowl? like not food I would think. and hang them on walls is what a lot of people do the dust covers not the album. or both. My nephew called last week. He was so excited. He has finally completed his vinyl collection. I asked how many.. 10,000. You have four boxes. Arent you glad you dont have to live with that? 10,000? are you kidding me? I asked politely what his wife collected he said nothing she is always trying to get him to get rid of things. he goes to album swap meets? and also to the vintage stores searching for them. He did say the most he haggles for is 28.00 and usually its 14 to 16. so the real buyers know how to buy I guess. sheesh. He is moving in a month. I said I am so glad we dont live near you or we might be lifting all those boxes. I do not think his friends will be thrilled after what the 50th box?

runners: I am going for bright sunny happy spring colors for my dear friend Marybeth. As she is also getting a Patriotic runner from me this month she is just one lucky duck.

last note on a goofy side. I was at equilter and they had this calendar for sale. Its called men quilts and spicy burritos. random at best. they arent wearing shirts. they are hunks. and what drugs was the person or group of women on who sat around and came up with THAT idea.. they are all posed quilts draped over laps shoulders hot stomach muscles and a arm outstretched holding.. a burrito. I thought http://www.equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc...13369253.17the quilt patterns were really nice. um ah.. that pattern on the guys lap that one.. its called.. oh yeah uh a quilt .. here is the link in case you think I am on medications and just checking out hot bodies I mean quilt calendars.
