i had a del sol that i just adored. gave it to my daughter and she sold it to move to texas! i loved that little car, so cute and clever. now i have my first dream car, my mustang gt rag top. she is sweet! her full name is bubella, but i call her boo because she doesn't hang around for her whole name. took me 32 yrs to get her and i have no intention of letting her go. she needs a little tlc, but her innards are still working like a charm. of course, she's low mileage since she can not ice skate or sled. she prefers a dry, fast track. her tires are minimum $100 each and i buy them where i get a discounted rate. man, she's high maintenance, and according to dh, so am i. who woulda thought? hahahahaha, hee hee!

Oh nancia, you make me laugh. Think I'm a little high maintenance also, but it's kind of like the old saying been there done that. If he doesn't do it I will. I'm looking forward to receiving my table topper/ runner, actually almost forgot. I haven't heard from my partner in awhile but hopefully we can mail soon . Saw what I made today in my sewing room guess that's why I like to send and get it out of here....I know I'm done. See told you guys I would have forgot about it and missed the mail date.

hehe yes on the falling into and having hip trouble getting back out. It was the first change I noticed. Though I needed a ladder to get into the suburban. I will miss the going up and over the snow with the 4x4 of the suburban but my old jetta only got stuck once and I was able to get it unstuck myself with enough time. We're almost past that issue anyways. I cringe every time I hit a bump and hear that scraping noise. I think I read in the manual it has like 5.5" ground clearance in the front.. geez. I don't think my kitten could even fit under that. hahah.

Oh yea i need to get on the harassment PMs.. was doing homework

Hey! No harassment needed here missy! Well, I didn't email yet... I'll email when I decide if I'm going to go for additional quilting or not, lol.

I used to have a red Grand Am GT that was a hot little car at the time. It was a curb dragger too. I loved that car, but the ex wanted a Jeep Grand Cherokee, so he traded it in & called it my birthday present. The only car I've ever had that I can honestly say I hated was the Galant we got when we were cutting back bills until things settled down when my ex incorporated his business. I got caught in a hail storm in it one day and I was scared to death, but when I got home, parked under the carport, I thought whew, maybe now we'll get rid of it, lol. About 3-4 months later, we traded it in for another Cherokee. We never did fix the hail damage before we traded it.

Imagine it is getting to be time for the nagging notices to tardy? folks. Is quiet here tonight but folks have to take a break sometime. :-) Enjoyed reading about all your vehicles. I drive 2007 Freestar. Not because I am a soccer mom but because it is easy to get in and out of for older folks. Looking at prices of new and used vehicles, I think I will be driving this for a long time. Used cars in the mid-twenty something price range. Holy cow! I will never own a new car again but not sure I want to. I like the older ones better. Should see some swap folks posting soon...I hope. :-)

Sandy, I was just reading an article about this Friday. (http://www.usatoday.com/story/driveo...rable/1949385/) Apparently, the only US city out of the 25 major cities they looked at with the median income to afford current new car prices is Washington DC. I just went back to work in the car business, for a dealership that carries both a luxury line and a non-luxury line from the same manufacturer. As of Friday, we were 15 new vehicle sales away from the manufacturer's March 15th goal that is an indicator of a "good" year. That's makable, but they offered an extra $1000 rebate to employees and their immediate families through today as an added push to help with it. I see way more sales on the luxury side than I do on the non-luxury side. It seems that people who aren't buying from the luxury line are mostly buying used. People are also willing to drive a further distance to buy their cars, even used ones. We see lots of sales from 100+ miles away as a result of our internet sales program. I'll have another new car. I'd just like to get out from under my student loans first if I can.

It's funny, my ex thought nothing of trading cars every year or two. My boyfriend of 7 years bought his vehicle 6 months after we started dating & isn't close to thinking about a new one yet and thinks I shouldn't be either since there's nothing wrong with mine.

Your facts were interesting on cars. I guess I have never been on board with getting a new car often. I drove a 58 Rambler to work in the mid 60's. Did buy a brand new car in 1965 and then got a brand new pickup in 1978. Since then it has always been used cars for us..Used van in 2001; 2003 and last one in 2011. But I don't mind. No car payment means I can afford to buy a little more quilting fabric. LOL!

I drive an old (98) Suzuki Sidekick and prior to that I drove a Suzuki Samari - the Samari was a rag top so I could bomb around with the top off in the summer - a very fun ride; also have a Ford Explorer that sits in the garage as it's our going out of town ride in comfort vehicle; Mr. Beasley does not get to ride in it. Beasley rides in my sidekick and Brian's Old Ida car (88 olds cutlass). We both would like to get new vehicles but with the dog and all that hair it's not going to happen any time soon and I'm not about to leave my dog at home when it's time to run errands - he loves going for rides. So for now we keep what we have - Sidekick gas mileage isn't bad for a 4x4; I'll drive it into the ground then get a new ride; my back window sticker reads (quitcherbitchen) - some laugh and some want to know if it's German - LOL

Hopefully I will be able to mail my topper out this week - still need to put binding on.

Working on the binding of my topper. Should have it finished in the next night or so (unless I get wrapped up in a good book - which happens often!). Hang in there Mary and I'll get finished.
