This girl is a bit less traditional... would prefer more tropical/floral than desert, ocean with a mai tai in front of it would be lovely though! :-)

Crud, I may have just changed my pattern... but batiks will most certainly be involved.

Happy quilting everyone...

ohhhh I love batiks you can make me one! or two even! I love tropical flowers how can you not be happy with a tropical flower? they are so cool, usually so exotic looking sure wont grow in my yard! and often the perfume from them is amazing.. I have been to Hawaii several times and to Mexico several times.. never had a bad trip probably why the tropical appeals to me, it brings happy thoughts to mind and well who doesnt like happy thoughts?

On a lazy note I am sewing today and getting the house cleaned by someone other than me. NOW that is a happy thought. off to work on some binding and hopefully the mail will come back with my groceries and in it will be some fabric. too soon but I can always dream..

Well, I dove in head first and went and bought 3 yards of beautiful solid orange fabric, since there are so many blues and greens in the fat quarters I bought. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I can use this with the leftovers my partner from this swap sent me with my runner! I'm thinking my boyfriend needs a bright runner for the conference room in his office too!

So Nancia how are my bunny slippers coming along?

I finished my quilt top!!!!! three borders it looks very very nice. DH said put it in front of a window and it resembles a church stained glass to him with the light shinning through from behind. I think that was a compliment from him not sure I also finished two boom blocks!! it was a good sewing day. And Emily not only cleaned she ran to the bank, the grocery store and the post office for me as a bonus. She has been helping me for 2.5 yrs and is so reliable and trustworthy I love it. She also has a little 5 yr old boy she is trying to care for all by herself. deadbeat x. She needed shoes for him for Christmas. I made sure she had some and he thought they were the best present ever .. they are just like dads he said. oh crud. or oh yeah I suppose. At least he had something that fit instead of undersized shoes. He is a great easy going polite little boy. If all could be that way! anyone with left over boys clothing size 7 he could use some maybe we can work out a fabric trade for them. She works two jobs and cleans houses but still its never enough with growing children. Minimum wage just doesnt get you far I think.

anyone start their runners? any one pick their fabrics out yet? anybody at all??

Started my fussy cuts tonight and found that the panel that came with my kit was not cut right to take advantage of the required fussy cuts - hopped on line and found some from MA - hopefully it gets here quick - in the mean time I can piece together the rest of the blocks and just wait for my fussy fabric to arrive.

Brian painted our living room last week while he was on vacation - we are having carpet cleaning service come in tomorrow to shampoo carpets - it will be tricky keeping Mr. Beasley off carpet until it's dry. Wish I had a cleaning person to come in and mop my floors once a week - seems like such a small chore when you look at the size of our kitchen - guess I just need to invest in one of those steam mops.....deep breath and sigh

pretty!! emerald green is the pantone color of the year. i think i have 3 emerald green handbags. no, i didn't make them. i'm one of those "snotty" collectors. well, i'm really not snotty, i just like a certain kind of purse. no animals were starved in the making of my collection. ( i continued to feed my dogs and cats. but sadly, some leather products were removed from previously well fed animals. ok, there's no nice sounding way to say that. all i meant was, i used money allotted for that purpose and did not take anything away from our bills, animals, children, etc.) it's what i do, ot's how i roll! i am a collector of fine things.

Boy I love pretty purses. I buy.. carry bags from the thrift store for under 3.00. I need to take so much stuff to dialysis like water, snack, book, crafts I need one of the larger two handled bags. not so pretty most of them though the current one has cherries on it. works. rest of the time I carry a wallet. period.

Ilove the sparkley fabric on the left. so pretty Hot toddy! a package for me? its almost my other birthday so ok I am in!! I figure April 28th is my transplant date so its my new birthday. I am taking two a year now what the heck.. works for me! I am excited and will let you know when it comes.

Dabbler that would irk me, buy a kit and they dont have enoughof the fabric with it. boy that would bug me a whole lot glad however you found the fabric you need. I just got an email oriental trading company and had to buy some hawaiian napkins. how funny tropical was the theme in the email they suckered me in. my mind was on the subject. oops driver is here gotta go. Ciao for now amigos!
