I would love to do this swap...but I am new and know anyone who could sponsor me!! This sounds amazing and I love the idea of giving someone special surprises during their birthday month.

Morning, everyone. Looks like sign-ups are progressing nicely. Those who are signing up, please send your info to both Barb and to me. Thank you!

NZQ, it's perfectly ok to use the jelly roll strips as long as they come out to 2.5 inches square. I find that some do and some don't quite make it. Use your best judgement.

Welcome, Darren. Always a pleasure to have new folks in a swap. Stirs things up a bit and keeps us from getting stale. Enjoy!

Ack!!! I'm on the list (jumping up and down and trying soooo hard not to yell-everyone's still sleeping)
I'm on the list
I'm on the list. whheeeeee (think of the wee lil piggy with his head and pinwheel outside the car).

I've literally been stalking ya'll since the day I joined. See, back then, I thought I'd lost my Y2K, talk about a special swap. I wanted to recreate it as 2020 in 2020 but dang... where have all the swappers gone? I blasted my post everywhere and only got like 12 takers... we needed over 100. So that didn't get off the ground.

Fast forward to today, not only was my Y2K unearthed but it's at the quilters! I'm thrilled. I enjoyed putting it together so much that I'm totally addicted to small pieces of fabric. Had to buy a stack of the 17" totes and now have 4 full of neatly stacked squares, triangles, HST's and 2.5 strips. I've started to print out scrap quilts that I put into a collage for inspiration. So far no one has really screamed at me.

Ahhh home at last.

Amazing! Is that "just" the candies from last year?

Question... tonals ok? I was in a box of the month and got a jelly roll of tone on tone in a rainbow. It's my first "ever!!" jelly roll and I was thrilled when I saw it in the box. Hauled it out hoping for flowers or some kinda prints. Nope one more time it's tone on tone. I was in the box for four month and each month I said to myself,,, self hang on they have to get better.Yeah right. First month was white charms! seriously??!!! Next it was 10" tone on tone. Month 3 it was you guessed it tone on tone. This last jelly roll of tone on tone, kicked my bucket. I wrote to them and told them all about it. Then they asked for feedback and I gave them that too. This could be,,, should be a great box. Rainbow of any print would have been nice and happily accepted here. sigh... it just happened can you tell?

And where did Chatty Patty come from? LOL I had an infusion yesterday (SLE not cancer) mand one of the premeds is a steriod which always picks me up. Then I get Cushings and no one can touch me, not even the shower. Ok Chicka, enough outta me, ya'll have a great day. I have to work but hope to pull my fabric later. How much though? Some have done, 30, 35, group maxes out at 37. I can always use them so I'll most likely cut all 37. I don't like to redo my work. This last year though,,, I did a lot of ripping instead of fudging and I have to say, I honestly enjoyed it. Well not the ripping but the fact that I could and did do it.

Yeah hushing up. Enjoy!

Default Still Here

Finally found some photos, I hope I'm loading them and they are working. I sure hope they are here. Techy challenged.

The photo with peeps is a quilt DD and I made in a single day, Merry Meyham's New Years mystery. We will always get together to make a quilt so long as we are both alive... every new years day.

The other is my beloved Y2k, I am so,,, just happy with this quilt. The blocks I made 20 years ago where like 10.5" the ones I made recently are more like 11.5? I alternated them for a squiggle and it all came out in the wash. My quilting skills have changed a good bit. Plus all those HST's... I tossed out the other side of them back in the day. The half that I just finished,,, they all are being put to use and are being put into those totes I have full of stacks of squares. Speaking of which, I'd love to see how ya'll store your charms etc. My large fabrics in totes,,, are now overflowing as I'm adding to it too. My sewing area is in the living room so I don't want to do anything permanent. And if it wouldn't look so utterly stupid I'd bring in this french provincial dresser for some of the fabric. Tempting though.

Have a great day.

Wendy, that is mostly charms from the swap. I did have to cut a few more of specific color groups to fill out the pattern I wanted, but not much. And I still have a decent stack that I didn't use!

The candies are fun to use in the "watercolor" type quilts too.

Following this thread and sure hoping a lot more people join in this swap so we have a large group like last year. Sure makes it fun at birthday time, to open lots of envelopes of "candy".
