So I will not be a part of boom 11 or any future boom swaps. Life gets in the way at times, I finished the fast group on time and life got crazy for me to meet the deadline for the fast group.

Have a good time and enjoy your blocks when this one gets started.
I owe the hostess Janice Mc a big apology. I was on the angry side when I wrote the above comment....I should not have done that to her.

It is my fault I got behind and she has guidelines that she is following. I should have thought this through better before posting. If I could delete my post I would but I can't do that. I am sorry and she does not need to respond in any way shape or form to justify her decision.

She has taken on a huge responsiblity and I only made it a bit rough for her with my remarks. I wish her well in leading this swap.

Please have fun and enjoy the swap. Janice will be a great hostess.

Good evening folks, Confirmation emails have gone out to everyone I've gotten an email (or a PM) from as of about 30 minutes ago. I'm going to double check my pm's but I think I'm up to date. Just an fyi, I've got 16 firm names and one "maybe". Considering the holidays, the changes to the swap and the fact it's only been 5 days, I'm more than content with the way sign-ups are going. I'm seeing more positivity than I anticipated so that's wonderful! Thanks.

Not to toss a wrench into the works but in the past, there were a number of "side swap" agreements. Do we have a plan or option for continuing these? It seems like a lot to ask the hostess to keep track not only of the groups but then the side stuff, too.

Would it be ok to still advertise for side swaps and then just handle those on a one-on-one basis (like we've done in the past)?

I'm signed up to be in every group (however many we have) but if anyone isn't able to officially participate but still wants to do some side swaps, please PM. I'm open for those any time, any day. No boom req'd.

I already sent you my e-mail to sign up again. I enjoy them very much!
In every boom I've been in at least 1 person doesn't follow thru and send my block. Yes, it is aggravating because twice it has been the same person. I know things happen, just drop me a PM and let me know and that you won't be sending me a block. I hate just waiting on a block or more when I could have already started my quilt.
I want everyone to know I know things happen just let me know, I am not naming names or trying to start problems. I LOVE the swaps!
I will go along with what every the hostess decides. I appreciate her taking on such a task!
Thanks to all the swapers!
Penny

Janice, I just sent you an e-mail. The one you sent me said " delivery failed." I don't know why, unless it was where I had failed to add you to my contacts. I have done so now.
If you don't mind, please resend the e-mail.
Thank you and sorry for the extra work!

I have this same question. I looked, but didn't see the topic of side swaps addressed in the main swap rules thread. Side swaps have been permitted in the past. Assuming this hasn't changed, I, too, would be very happy to do side swaps at any time.

I also have a question regarding multiple groups. If a person signs up for, say, 3 groups, is the return postage still $6, or does it go to $18 (3 x $6)?

Just sent through another e-mail with my registration info. Looking forward to this! Already printed of some interesting new block ideas. Since this is my first boom, I wanted to confirm that applique blocks are permitted as well. Can't wait to see all the fabrics. Ready to get started. And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Hi Carolyn, just replied by email to you. And yes, applique blocks are permitted. The maker of the block has the choice of block style however the owner of the fabric may have suggestions as to colors. You'll get that info when you receive the F8s. Nice to hear you are already checking out some ideas! I wish I were done with the admin stuff so I could play too! (Oh, boy, my respect for every single swap leader is growing daily!)

I've read all 7 pages and have decided to try this. I've been in several booms, and every one of them has come up short on returned blocks. Which is the long way of saying, i like this new idea. I will miss the squishies, but enjoy the finished blocks more! Thank you, Janice, for doing this! I will put my name in for the slow dinghy from China, or as you call it, one small slow group, please. If that isn't workable, my terms are negotiable, lol. I seem to always take it down to the wire, but i mail on time ( just, sometimes). I just like to savor what I'm doing!

Nancia, As long as you mail within the deadlines (as long as we ALL mail within the deadlines), all will be fine! Will look for your email later today. Thank you!
