Sewbiz sorry for the loss of your silver sneaker student.

in Minnesota Lutheran funeral dinners are known for strong coffee, hot dishes and jello. But there is always lots of deserts.

Kass your cube frozen is so unique, how in the world do you come up with these wonderful designs.

Sewbiz, so sorry that your friend has died.

Kass -- how many blades in one Frozen Plate?

DarcyShannon -- that is an adorable halloween quilt! How "normal" is it for you to do that machine quilting now?

Terri -- I am glad the funeral is behind you. Death is so sad. There is no quick way for grief to go away. I do hope your sister can find comfort in her new world sooner than later.

Kass both those quilts are beautiful!! I think its a great world when people have different ideas and views on things. It would be so boring is we all thought alike. Your blocks are always, always beautiful and different!!
Terri, so glad your sad days are past..it will get better in time. I think Im going to do the QAYG with my boom blocks after I finish this Cubs quilt. Ill have 4 to bind after Sunday... What size do you all make your binding?? Someone said 2" but I use 1 1/2" just piddling around waiting for more booms to show up Still no internet at home!

I got a generic post card from Suddenlink yesterday. I just cancelled my cable and internet this month. Now they are sending out notices you can get internet for a year at $14.99 a month!! (mine was $50)...but you have to have not had their internet for 30 days....so guess what Im going to try to sign up for?? LOL Bet they wont let me do it but its in writing!!

Thank you everyone for commenting on my mini. I am not sure what you meant by normal, ibex, but I am practicing each week and actually finished another mini quilt yesterday.

Sew biz, I am sorry that you lost a member of your class. We have a boot camp with all ages and I can imagine how it must feel to miss someone’s company you enjoy.

Kass, those frozen quilts are so pretty. They will be cherished.

Terri, are there particular flavors of jello that are favored? On a more serious note, I hope your sister will navigate her way through. It is a shock. We had a close family friend lose her husband suddenly last month, after over 30 years of marriage, and everyone is still surprised.

I’ve been working on a sports themed double Irish chain for my DH. It is a bit tedious but it is in his favorite team colors.

Just checking in with all of you, sorry it's been so long. My condolences and prayers are being sent, some of you have certainly been in my thoughts. Life gets pretty hard to take sometimes.
Since being in Florida, I've had to go through a battery of tests that have really taken a toll on my immune system. It's pretty much non existent at this point. I had a CT scan last week that actually left me weak in the knees and really ill from the fluid they have you drink. Now I have a cold and stomach flu that will not go away. They postponed the MRI until next Tuesday so hopefully I will be better. Not a good way to start the Florida season.
My other quilt is pieced and put together, just not enough energy to get it on the machine and quilted, soon I hope.

Geez, Jaba, it seems like you are due a big break so you can feel well and enjoy your Florida time. I hope the weather is nice enough that you can get at least get a little sun to help you lift your spirits. You are in my thoughts pretty much every day. Hugs to you.

Kassaundra, your Frozen quilt is beautiful. Can't wait to see the second one, too.

Joanelizbay, that's pretty annoying about the cable.

Some happy news is tomorrow I'm off to KS to see my sons, both of whom serendipitously ended up 5 miles apart after graduating from schools in GA. Go figure. Anyway, I'll get to see them both and I'll even have a full day with my eldest son who is a PT and travels a couple of days a week to treat patients in their homes. We'll see lots of Eastern KS on Friday and have lots of time to chat between appointments. The rest of the time is wide open for anything we wish to do. I'm sure it will involve lots of time with their dogs as they have 3 between the two. I hope everyone has as fine a weekend as i'm hoping mine will be.

Happy journey, Janice!!

DarcyShannon, when you can do the quilting without having to stress over it, I suspect then it will be normal. It sure sounds like you are definitely on the normal side of that new technique. Good job!!

Kass -- 24 blades.... that's a lot of fussy cutting but sure worth it! those plates are spectacular.
