Ibex I made the elf feet block for you. I thought the kids would like this one. I made Jayne one of these years ago. Hope you like it!

now I’m done with my 11 pumpkin blocks. I was hoping to do them within a month and I think I succeeded. It’s my first time doing both groups ( well group and a half. 30 blocks). I’m not sure if I’d be able to do 38 blocks in three months.

Have 4 I bow down to you, making 57 gorgeous blocks so fast. I’m getting faster but I’m still in the fast turtle category.

I'll probably be bringing up the rear with this swap! I've not started yet, but I'm not worried about it as I know I can crank out 20 blocks in a weekend.

Got the tall, long wall painted yesterday, today is moving stuff around so I can paint the two shorter walls. Will be nice to use the 6' ladder instead of the 8' ladder.

And once the painting is done and the room back together, I'll be starting on the blocks. I'm really looking forward to doing some sewing on my vacation time instead of Homeowner stuff! Though it will be really nice to finally have the sewing room painted. The down side is that when DH gets done with the basement rooms, the next project is the kitchen in the sewing studio. Going to build a partial wall and move cabinets and appliances around. The kitchen had a sink and fridge, and we're adding an oven, hood and dishwasher to make it complete.

Part of the long term plan, after the studio is complete then we move on to the main kitchen/dining/entry area. And while that one is being remodeled we'll be using the studio kitchen. We are doing some major changes and basically gutting that whole level. It's still a lot less work than we did at the old farmhouse - no lath and plaster to deal with!

Wow, Macybaby it sounds like you’ve been really productive and busy. You and your husband must be really handy to do all that work. We had an 800 square foot addition put on our house 20 years ago but we had a contractor do it.

We thought we had bought the perfect house but then life happened. We had a love ( surprise) baby, my husband started working at home full time, and my brother in law moved in to get healthy.

The toddler was in our bedroom and DH asked when are you going to move the baby out? I asked where would you like to move him? The living room or the kitchen? Our room was so small my husband kept his bureau in the hall.

I gave the big Bedroom to my 5 and 8 year old. It gave them a bit of a playroom. I put flower borders on one side and space themed on the other. Some kindergarten child told my son it was wrong for him to share a room with his sister!

it all worked out fine Actually the house couldn’t have been laid out better for this situation. and compared to my dad’s situation growing up (14 kids, three to a bed), we were in luxury.

When we were deciding about the addition, thrifty me just wanted to add an office. My husband pointed out. Do you want to share a bathroom with three teenagers?

now of course, the house is too big. I have a large sewing studio (kids bedroom). My hubbie has his somewhat soundproofed Office for playing and writing music now that he’s retired. My son has the family room for college and video games. He’s a world class smash bro’s player and gives lessons to others.

I feel guilty having so much room.

macybaby. I’m envious of your ability to whip out beautiful blocks so fast!

Bugaroo I like your block better when it’s rotated. It’s amazing what you see when you put a block on the design wall. Don’t be too impressed, my design wall is two pieces of light batting pinned on the wall.

MJP, I like the it both ways and love the contrast. I finally got a design wall. Hubbie got 2 pieces of thick foam boards. I covered and the plan was to just lay them against the wall. Then hubbie came in the room and ask if I measured the ceiling height. I said, "No, the ceiling is 8 foot and the boards are 8 foot". He smiled. My ceiling is not 8 foot. Thus began the unwrapping and cutting of 4 inches and rewrapping. He still smiled but I have my wall!! And I LOVE your elf shoes!

Macybaby, I sew in my aunts little house at the bottom of our driveway. It was built in 1963 by my grandparents and with her poor health had really gone down hill. We fixed the ceils, replaced the all the floor, sheetrock, plumbing, electrical, insulation, lights, roof, windows, siding and all appliances. Oh and we added central heat/air. This is now my sewing house! I will pray for your renovation.

MJ, love your Cupid blocks and the elf feet are adorable.

Macy I will be hanging in there till the end with you. Probably won’t get a chance to sew again till we go home and I can’t crank out 20 in a weekend

here's a progress picture.

In the last picture you can see where I painted to - now to get stuff moved around so I can get the rest painted. Though today DH and I are driving to Sioux Falls for a shopping day. That was the only downside to moving, we're now two hours away instead of one. At least it didn't snow overnight like was in the forecast.

I've got some work to do on the design wall, securing the fabric to the sides, but at least we got the board up! I can move the chairs out of the way if needed, but they give DH and the cats somewhere to sit -and hopefully the cats will decide the chairs are more comfortable than the ironing board.

So nice and big! Love how you have a rod at the top of the walls for hanging. I may copy that!
