I have no idea how this topic made its way onto this thread. I have been in 7 of Aprils booms and occasionally someone does not meet expectations, and I emphasize "occasionally". April has always worked hard on making these swaps move along smoothly and when "something" did happen we were understanding, we forgave and we moved on. This is a friendly, family-like bunch of swappers and we try to be kind when other quilters have problems. I would really like to see it stay this way. I do not mean to offend......just mend.

I dont think anyone EVER was critizing April, in fact we all know that she has a hard job because she is the one that monitors who sends out and who doesnt and she has to make the calls or PMs asking why. Everyone understands that at times there are life problems that cause people to fall behind or not be able to finish and there isnt a single person in this swap, or any swap, that doesnt understand that. I think ladies are just trying to say that its very frustrating when you DONT hear from someone you have sent fabric to, expecting one back...everyone is trying hard Im sure and if you got all your blocks in other swaps you seem to be one of the very lucky ones!! Im missing probably 7 blocks out of 4 swaps and thats a little frustrating! I appreciate all the opinions, pro or con! And again.. A BIG THANKS to April for ALL she does...I wouldnt have her job!

STANDING UP AND TAKING THE BLAME not for what I said but for what happened because of it. I did not mean to start a rag tag which apparently I did. It is not and I repeat NOT Aprils fault it is however a slight by a few which has been ignored. By bringing it up I purely wanted to call attention to those who know they have not quiet followed the rules and the hurt it causes. This way perhaps it will remedy itself and then that part that makes it so fun can be truly enjoyed. I apologize to all of you sincerely. END OF DISCUSSION if you have an issue please PM me and I will gladly chat there (ok not gladly rather drop it).

OK ONTO HAPPY NEWS I received a block! tada! a block from Annaquilts. I have to say those blocks you make are indeed the best pressed in the country. I think that the time you spend making the backs lay so perfectly heck they are as good from the back as from the front. HOW DO YOU FIND THE TIME amazes me young lady. All those children AND you still send out repeatedly quality blocks. I wish I was even half that good. wowsa.

Tomorrow is another lovely day at Stanford visiting all the wonderful docs and a lunch with my son in between so its a good day even if its a tiring one. this is my second boom and I like having the long time to do the blocks. It has allowed me to plan when to do the blocks around my like and the various trips that I am making. For example: When I went to NH, I knew that I would be able to use my friends sewing machine so I took some blocks with me but come Nov. I am going to visit my daughter again in Melbourne, Australia and I won't be able to sew at all the month I am down there. So I had to schedule making my blocks in around those activities. I am sure that other people may have things going on in their lives too and have to schedule in when they can make their blocks. I am not worried at all and will just relax and enjoy the process. Today I am going to make 7 blocks. The 8th block I am not happy with the fabric I selected and the 9th one (from Linda58) I have to go buy some more material. A note to LInda......I loved the Christmas fabric and I am making two blocks for you. One is done but the other I did not have enough of the accent material and that is why I am going to go to the fabric store to match it up. And Tammy....I didn't have enough of the turquoise I wanted to use and went with another one and just hate it so I will also get some other material to go with yours.

I am going to visit my sister in the middle of the month in Las Vegas. She tells me that she has 3 boxes of material that she is going to give me. LOL I want to drive up today and get them. LOL. But I will wait. I can take the gobus for $75 dollars round trip where gas will cost me about 120. So will save the money and let someone else drive me.
I can take my Kindle and read both ways.

Well off to sew my blocks. Patterns are selected and they are all cut out. (can you hear my machine buzzing?)

WOW...I step away for the weekend and wow. So enough of that...I have 5 blocks finally going home to their owners today!!!

Elisabrat, I hope I did your honey hive justice!!!
girlscouts1, I LOVE your vision for this now...took a while to "see" it.
TwinRiverFarms, Yours turned out DARLING!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! If you don't like it, you can ALWAYS send it back.
moonrise, I saw your fabric and it took me a while to find the "right" pattern. I hope it showcases it well for you.
QuilterMomma, your fabric, I KNEW what to do right away, sadly, it didn't work out right...however, last night it FINALLY came together...even hubby was impressed and proud.

I hope y'all like. I have some more to cut tonight and sew later this week. I'll be posting shortly if y'all want to see sneak peeks.

Waiting on F8s from:

Barb, If that Bus stops here, please pick me up! I love going to Vegas, but not for the reasons most go, my very best friend from forever lives there, and we have so much fun just sitting in her living room chatting and laughing! It is the best vacation for me. And they have a fantastic Run there, I love running when there is no humidity.

I am actually working on blocks today, got an early quick run in. Life is often times very ironic, I am going to Washington on October 12th, and my husband got a job that starts October 15th in OC Laguna Niguel, but his job will last 3 weeks so I will miss the first week being his helper, but when I get home I will head straight to his job site until two days before the Marathon, then zip up to Fresno to my Sons for 4 days... gotta lot of traveling on my plate in the next few weeks!

And just to clear the air, I love the Boom swaps, they are the best! April is amazing and we all love her. This has no reflection on her at all. The reality of it is we are all women, (ok mostly, I haven't swapped with a man yet) and we will never all have the same opinion, Which is precisly why I SWAP. I want the variety of your imput into my quilts. I have met some of the most amazing friends here. So forgive me if I have offended any one, I am at times a little to quick to say what frustrates me. But I am really over it!

As far as the Bee Fabric I sent out I think I am just totally amazed that all most all of the other fabric has come back, it is more of a surprise element that out of two groups of Women randomly set out fabric.

Then I got to thinking why. I am sure everyone has Christmas fabric in their stash but maybe not as many have something that matches the fabric with the apples and bees. So again forgive me for jumping so fast to open my mouth in a somewhat critical way, it was not intended to sound so whiney...
